Countdown

26 days until Christmas! :) 17 school days until Christmas!  :)  3 days (counting today) until the local Christmas Festival!  My Girl Scouts are selling baked goods and other cute things there this weekend! ???? days until my Christmas tree and decor are up. :(  (Know where it is, but have to clear all the spaces to put it up!) ???? days until the first present is under the Christmas tree.  (Have the present!  Need to wrap it!  Might be nice to have a tree up!) 3 days (counting today) until one of my classes wraps up! 7 days (counting today) until the other class wraps up! 17 days (counting today) until GRADUATION!  (That's crazy!  4-and-a-half years and it's finally here!) So the countdowns are on!  Would put a countdown timer on the blog, but too many things to count down for!  :)

Epic Fail

The Girl Scout troop is participating in the local Christmas Festival this Saturday.  The girls have been hard a work for a week or two to make cake balls, cookies, dipped pretzels, etc.  Last week, I asked my church people to please consider donating items for the girls to sell.  (I'm still hoping to get some things!) Anyways.... over the weekend, I bought some Pillsbury Sugar Cookie dough at the store.  I bought the rolled up kind.  On the roll, it says that you can roll it out to use cookie cutters.  So I did. My cookies were SO PRETTY!  Then.... I baked them.  :(  They all flattened out and looked like blobs instead of cute trees, bells, gingerbread people, and other shapes.  :(  So disappointed.  EPIC FAIL!

Dentist---Moving---And Stuff

Let's start with STUFF: 1. I have two classes this semester.  One finishes on Saturday; the other finishes on Dec. 5th.  2. Graduation is Dec. 15th, but I am thinking about not going. :(  I have so much other stuff I could actually do that day.... like sleep, work on the house, sleep, hang out with the munchkin, sleep.... you know.... stuff! 3. I have to decide soon about graduation because I have to go get my cap and gown (and hood) for the ceremony! MOVING: 1. We are OFFICIALLY in the new house.  My brother and his oldest son came over on Saturday to help us move.  It was my nephew's 15th birthday, and he spent it helping us move! :) 2. I told you that I flooded the downstairs of the house.  Well, we are going to replace the flooring in the dining room, but the carpet in the living room turned out to be fine. 3. Sunday, I didn't make it to church because the elements on the hot water heater went out.  We had thought before that this wa...

The Day I Flooded the NEW House

Image
No, I’m not kidding!   I flooded the ENTIRE downstairs of the new house today!  However, I totally blame it on my husband!   When we looked at the house for the first time, we knew that the previous owner was leaving the washer and dryer.  Both look really new.  Our washer/dryer combo is only about a year old, so we thought that we would try out the ones in the new house to see which we liked better.  Then we would sell the other set.   So today, we went over to paint the Princess’s room.  She wanted “Satin Snow” with a “Fairytale Pink” stripe.  We agreed to those colors.    I decided to throw Tony’s work pants that we had taken over into the washer.  It started like it was supposed to.  I went back up stairs.  My mom was there.  She was upstairs.  A while—like hour or so—later Mom and I walked downstairs to find about 2 inches of water covering the kitchen floor, seeping into the living ro...

Blog-a-versary!

So I've been so crazy busy around here lately that I missed my own Blog Anniversary! I've been blogging for FOUR YEARS!  I started blogging in October 2008!! Maybe (hopefully) after I graduate in a few weeks, I will have time to write more.  I hope so.  I have an idea for a book.  I want to write it!  Anyone know a publisher?  I'm going to need one! So.... for now.... HAPPY BLOG-A-VERSARY to me!

Closing

Image
On Wednesday at 3pm at a lawyer’s office here in town, Tony and I closed on the house!    We put in the offer on July 27th.  We closed on November 7th!    Now… the fun part!    We have to finish packing the kitchen so we can move!     But…  the house is ours!

Election Day

No!  I'm not telling you who I'm voting for.  It doesn't matter!  Today, I spent most of my day in a meeting at work.  Then I voted!  The line at the middle school only had about 10 people in it at 1:43pm.  One of the ladies from my church works the poll.  She said that 1000 people voted early (my parents included) and that this morning the line was wrapped around to the gymnasium at 6:30am.  So....I had gotten there at a good time.  She said that at 4:30 or 5pm they expected the line to be long again!  After that I went to my parents' house.  My munchkin was "Grand Dad sitting" today.  Since he has come home from the hospital, he's on a walker.  He can't carry things and use the walker.  So she went over to stay with Grand Dad today. She helped him get his drink, snack, etc.!!! I got there right at 2pm.  I stayed there until 4pm watching "Walker: Texas Ranger" with Dad.  I love watching Chuck Norris...

More time to Write than Ever!

Image
So today, I’m sitting here in a workshop for work.  It was supposed to start at 9am.  However, it’s 9:02am and the presenter just arrived and is setting up all his stuff.  So…..  I guess that means we aren’t going to start on time!     Now…if this is anything like the workshop last week, I should be able to multitask.  I should be able to get some writing done today!  Who knows?   Weird room for the presentation.  Screen is far away.  Small print!   OMG!  Lots of random thoughts today!    Let’s see how this goes!
