Back....for Today at Least

So, I'm sure you've noticed that I haven't been around for awhile. Ok...maybe you haven't noticed. :) Ever since my student teaching began on January 11th, I have not had time to think or do much that was not connected to it. However, today is Sunday, and church has been cancelled due to the snow/ice that are still on the ground from Friday night's storm. Actually, it snowed/iced most of the day yesterday too. So, we have several inches on the ground this time! It's exciting. Considering that I do not (in the foreseeable future--you know--today) see the NCDOT or the Concord DOT getting all the roads clear, I think we will probably have a snow day tomorrow from school. If the roads are just a LITTLE better on Tuesday, we will probably have a delay. However, if the weather stays in the 10s and 20s as predicted, we very well may have a snow day on Tuesday too. :) I am supposed to pick up my first class tomorrow (Monday) to start teaching. I have only been observing...

Memories.....

...like the corner of my mind. Precious watercolored memories....."! Ok, so I'm a little sappy this morning. My little girl now will not even let me call her my "little" girl--in public anyways. I have to call her by her name or I can call her my "big" girl. As you know, she turned 6 a week ago today. She has lost two teeth, and now she thinks she is a BIG girl! :) I guess she is. I just can't believe how much she has really grown in the past couple of years. I remember the first day I took her to daycare (ok, it was really just my mom's house because mom was watching kids at her house at the time). I cried the whole way to work. I called my mom and threatened to quit my job so that I could be at home with Chasity. Last year was hard. She started Kindergarten. However, it's not so bad. We adjusted. She was awesome! This year, I'm a little misty-eyed because I can't believe that she's really 6 and in the first grade! ...

School Open House

So...tonight we went to the Open House for Chasity's school! WOW! The PTO stuff was absolutely fun! Then... Then, we found out who Chasity's teacher is. I have spoken to a few teachers over the summer, and I have opinions of a couple of them. I knew who I wanted her to have and I knew who I did NOT want her to have. So... So, we went to the lady with the list. Chasity said, "My name is Chasity..........Who is my teacher?" She found her name. She followed the line across the page. She said, "Chasity......... You have Ms. L." I was so excited! It was exactly who I wanted her to have! I squealed with excitement and jumped up and down while clapping. I know....it may sound stupid, but if you can get your kid in a class where you and the teacher speak the same "language", then it will work better. I had waited for 3 days to find out who she had....the teachers found out on Wednesday, but couldn't tell me. :( Then when I got there ton...
