A Blast From the Past

Image
I know that all of these pictures have been posted on here before, but I have to tell you that I never get tired of them.  These are some of my most favorite pictures EVER!  Most of them (if not all of them) were taken on my camera--NOT on my phone!  Chasity under the pier in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina C hasity as Taylor Swift  "One little, Two little, Three little Indians" I ALWAYS caption that photo of Chasity with some of the Cherokee dancers and storytellers like that. Having Cherokee blood is awesome. Unfortunately, you can tell my neither my child nor I got the Cherokee coloring! :)  Having the heritage is enough!                                                               These two pictures of Chasity at the church window at Christmas time is my absolute favorite. I jus...

Our "Normal"

The doctors told me to "return to normal" so I have been doing everything I normally do.  Almost everything.... I haven't had a chance to get back to the gym. I'm still trying to work that into my strange schedule.  I get the Princess off to school in the mornings. Then I head to the daycare to help my mom, since my friend who really works there is still out on medical leave. After I leave there, different days are different times, I head home for just a little bit before heading to get the Princess from softball practice. Two days a week, she has games. As of last Wednesday, the first game, she is the starting first baseman! Last year she only got to play in 2-3 games because she was in 7th grade. This year, as an 8th grader, she's a starter!  She got her same number too!  #18!!!! We have school stuff, like meetings and stuff to handle in the evenings. We have church stuff. We also have Girl Scout stuff. We stay pretty busy!  However, it's nice to be ...

Still Recovering

I still can not sit up without having a headache.  After spending Tuesday to Thursday in the hospital, I ended up back in the ER on Friday night. (I didn't get home from there until about 4am Saturday!) I woke up feeling much better, but then after spending a couple hours at the church doing a yard sale and hot dog sale, Tony had to bring me back home. I got really ill again. Sunday, I went to church but I should have stayed at home. :( I got really sick again. Today, I have been in the bed all day. (I'm getting a little sore from being in the bed all the time!) But, the doctor called in a new medicine for me. Hopefully after a couple doses of it, I will be able to tell a difference.  For now, I rest a lot and pray and hope that the headache goes away so I can get back to life as I know it..... you know... normal (or whatever that is!)!!

3 1/2 day weekend!

Today the Princess gets out of school at 11:30am.   Tomorrow we are going to Trunk-or-Treat at my school.   Sunday is church.   Monday I am resting. I have papers to bring home to grade, but other than that…. I'm sleeping in!   So excited!

2012: A Year in Review (Part 2)

Image
Here is Part 1 of this story. Now we are up to May. In May 2012, Tony and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. The last time we really went anywhere (like a trip) was in 2002—our first anniversary. The only reason we went anywhere then was because my best friend was getting married the day before our anniversary. So Tony and I took off to Kentucky (or West Virginia, I can’t remember). Anyways, we haven’t been anywhere since then for our anniversary. So this year, our anniversary fell on a Saturday. That was the first time it has been on a Saturday (since we got married)!!! So after the softball game that day, we left for the beach. We took all the stuff with us in the car. We changed clothes in the bathrooms at the ballfield. We left! The next morning, before we headed home, we walked on the beach for a while.    School let out on June 8th. On June 14th, we had to take Chasity to the ER. She couldn’t breathe. She...

Today

Church was great this morning.  Dad actually felt like going and sitting at church!  It was nice. I have been on homework for 3 hours, but it feels like FOREVER!  I have to write my Literacy Autobiography.  I have to tell how I learned to read and write!  OMG!  My momma taught me before I started Kindergarten.  Now.... how is THAT supposed to take 2-3 pages?

Surprises

My daughter's best friend is Madison. She is only 2 days younger than Chasity. They "knew" each other before they were born. (I know Madison's older sisters--my mom used to keep them!) Anyways, since today is another Snow Day because the back roads/side roads are not clear yet, I decided to surprise Chasity with a sleepover guest. This is supposed to be Madison's weekend with her dad, but lately she has been acting up for him, so her mom got the okay for her to stay with us! She is going to be here until SUNDAY! I've never kept her that long! So right now, I hear the sounds of little girls giggling and playing and whispering (loudly) in the other room! Chasity had NO IDEA Madison was coming. After Girl Scouts last night we went to WalMart. I told Chasity we had "Company" coming over after Scouts. I told her we needed to stop by the store to get some things that we were out of since she had been at home and eating house food all week. :) So th...

Mother's Day Weekend

WOW! I can't believe everything that we did this weekend. Saturday, Chasity and I slept in. Tony had to work; Chasity and I didn't even hear the alarm clock. Then, Saturday afternoon, we went to the park. My mom's family--all of her siblings that are still with us (two sisters have passed already)--met at the park! We were celebrating my 91 year old grandma! We were there for about 3 hours. Then we came home, cleaned up, and chilled out for the rest of the night. Sunday morning, when I got out of the shower, Tony and Chasity surprised me with pink roses. Chasity also made me a little mouse of clay and painted it. (I'll try to put up pics of this stuff.) And I had TWO cards! I was so excited just to be a mom! At church, my Secret Sister (who will be revealed at Christmas) gave me a bag of goodies... mostly scrapbooking stuff! :) Then the church gave out prizes for the oldest mom--it was a lady from our church who doesn't get to come often! I'm so gla...

New Year's Survey

I originally saw this on my friend Phyllis's blog. She originally saw it on our friend Susie's blog. I thought I should actually try it. It looked like fun! :) 1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? I let Chasity stay with someone other than a family member. 2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for 2010? The one I am MOST disappointed that I did not keep was to read the Bible all the way through. However, I have a plan to do that THIS year (2010)!!! I DID however lose weight. That's something I say I'm going to do every year. BUT... in 2009, I lost a little over 60 lbs. I have managed to keep MOST of it off too! So, I will continue to lose weight in 2010. Somehow, I plan to hit that 100 lbs. lost mark! 3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes....Tony's neice, Amber, had Lenna-Grace. 4. Did anyone close to you die? Yes...my Aunt JoAnn died in July. Just before Christmas, a close family friend passe...

One of Those Days

Thanksgiving was wonderful. My siblings and our families all got together at my sister's house. Lisa and Joe had just come in the day before from their Cruise to Mexico, so they were a little tired, but they still cooked a great turkey! Donnie and I cooked/brough the other stuff to go with it! Mom and Dad came home on Saturday! Tony, Lisa, Joe, Chasity, and I all went to their house for pizza Saturday night! We stayed there WAY too late! lol Sunday, Dad had to run the sound at church because Joe was sick! :( BUT.... it was great! That's the first time Dad has done that since his wreck! I'm glad he's feeling some better. However, he's very tired from doing that yesterday. Today, however, is starting off a little rough. My mother has already called 3 times for me to bring the copy of the daycare bank deposit to the daycare. (I did!) Chasity's school called to tell me that I needed to come see some boxes that were in the work room. (I did! I told them...

Homecoming

Today was homecoming at church! It was great! We had an awesome group called "Men of Praise" sing for us. The pastor delivered a great message. Unfortunately, because of homecoming, we didn't get anything together for Children's Church, so I had to take Chasity out to the nursery. She played there and I watched the sermon on the Closed Circuit TV. Then there was more singing. Then..... there..... was..... FOOD! OMG! It was wonderful food! Of course, food at church is ALWAYS good! Anyone who goes to a Southern church knows that! lol There was a counter full of deserts! There was chicken, potatoes, veggies, and just about anything else you could think of. It was a great Homecoming today! Until next time........

Not My Child Monday!

Image
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama . You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else (and their children) have not been doing this week. My child is perfect! I just want you to know this! She NEVER does anything wrong! Of course, if she were to do something wrong, it would not be any of the following funny things. My child did not leave me in WalMart to go to the other side of the store to find my mom. Nope! She would never do that because she knows that leaving my side without telling me freaks me out. So she wouldn't do it. She would especially not do it twice in one trip! No, not my child! My child would not eat breakfast and come up to me 30 minutes later t osay "Mommy, is it time for snack?". No. My child knows that we space meals and snacks out so that she's not eating every 30-45 minutes. Nope, my child would not do that. Of course, if she were to do that. She definitely would not plan her snack (a...

Weekend Follies

So this weekend has been fun....so far! Friday night, Tony and I had to move all the cookies from one location to another. I have had all the Girl Scout cookies in the fellowship hall at my church, but I had to move them because they were having a men's seminar there yesterday. So the cookies are now all in the kitchen at the daycare. Since the daycare opens at 6am in the morning, that means we have to move them all again!!!! I guess we will do that today! Then, yesterday the Girl Scouts and I spent 5 1/2 hours outside the door the to the local WalMart!! We sold 192 boxes of cookies! That's like 34 boxes an hour! lol Today so far, Chasity is pitching a fit! It's 9:03am. She's been up for about an hour. I got up a little later. Her dad was fussing with her trying to get her to eat. So now she has finally finished eating. However, my mom will be here in just a few minutes to pick her up for Sunday School and she's not going to be ready. This means that w...
