A Quick Commercial Break

So, today at The One Minute Writer , "C. Beth" used a prompt that I sent her. As I told her, I eat, sleep, breathe, and (yes) dream writing. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night wanting to write. However, I have yet to put that little note pad by the bed so that I can write down my ideas. (I could possibly be a New York Times Bestselling Author right now... if only I could remember what I dream to write! LOL) Anyways, check out today's prompt over there! It's really cool! (Yes, I'm tooting my own horn!) C. Beth has a timer on there so that you really only write for ONE MINUTE. So first I'm going to include the prompt for today. Then I'll copy my response in for you. Here's the prompt for today: Imagine someone you know (spouse, friend, etc.) is running for political office, and write a commercial designed to convince people to vote for them. Thanks to Leslie Jackson for today's prompt! Visit Leslie's blogs, The World Accordin

Merry Christmas!

Ok, so I still have at least two more Christmas parts to go (CMas Eve and Cmas Day), but I thought I'd stop in to say MERRY CHRISTMAS! I will have the pictures of last night and today up soon! (I just have to go hang out with my family to get more pictures!) So...MERRY CHRISTMAS! (I'll be back soon with more Christmas spirit!) Until next time........

Christmas--part 4

WOW! So it's Christmas Eve already! Wow! WOW! Ok, so I've said it enough! I wanted to share with you some pictures of what we have been doing this Christmas. First, my little Princess all dressed up for Sunday School in her new "L'il Dolly" Christmas dress. She looked so cute in that dress! (I wish I would have taken her for pictures in it, but I didn't. I guess I still can...they can just be "Winter" pictures now!) She doesn't look so happy, but she said she loved the dress. It came directly from the "L'il Dolly" showroom in Pigeon Forge, TN. (My mom buys her Christmas dress every year!) Just to prove that she DOES know how to smile, here is she the last day of school--Friday, Dec. 19th! On Dec. 18th, they had Pajama Day and watched "The Polar Express". They all had bells to wear home. So she has worn hers almost everywhere...except church...since she got it on Thursday! She even wore it back to school on

New Friends

So.. those of you who know me know that I make new friends all the time. I really talk to strangers just so I have someone to talk to. (Anyone been to Wally World with me knows this!) So, I have made a couple new "blogger friends". One of those is "C. Beth Blog"; she writes Musings of A Happy Mommy . She has amusing things happen that happen to all of us. However... those of us to whom they have happened seem to only laugh when it is someone else going through it. She also has another blog that I absolutely love. If you know anything about me (and you should), you know that I eat, sleep, dream, and breathe writing. I would rather write something than tell you. I'd rather send email than call you. I'd rather send a letter than meet you at the mall....etc. etc. etc. So.... I was browsing around one day and found the One Minute Writer . She says, "You have 1440 minutes in each day. Use one of them to write." So I have a couple of posts that I have com

Christmas--part 3

So as most of you know by now, I am a Daisy Girl Scout leader! This has been a great adventure for me. Seeing as though this year I added so many new things to my calendar, I have not really had time to think about getting everything planned for Girl Scouts. So on a "fly by the seat of my pants" thought, I had a friend of mine come to one of the meetings back in November to help us make Christmas cards for a nursing home. My friend is a Creative Memories consultant so we scrapbooked the cards (without pictures). They were very cute! We ended up with almost 80 cards. Well, I decided that cards were not enough of a Community Service Project. These girls needed to earn a Petal (badge) for their tunics. So I made arrangements for the troop to go to the nursing home to sing Christmas Carols. I chose the nursing home for somewhat selfish reasons. MY Grandmother lives there. Some of the people in the nursing home aren't as lucky as Grandmother. Some of them don't

Single Again...and Other Things!

Ok... so I'm not really single again. This week, I'm only half single! (That's not totally true either!) Anyways, this week, Tony is pulling some overtime. He's working his day shift (8a-4:30p) grabbing food and then working from 6pm-midnight! He is not getting home until 1am-ish. Last night, it was fine! Chasity went with me to my Mary Kay family Christmas Party! We were supposed to bring families anyways, so that was great! Tonight, we have Girl Scouts. I have to tell the girls and the parents all about the cookies. Then...after "Cookie Training" we are loading up the cars and heading to a local nursing home! A couple weeks back the girls made Christmas cards for the residents. Tonight, we are going to go sing a couple Christmas carols and deliver the cards. My Grandmother lives in the nursing home that we are going to visit tonight! I told her a while back that we were coming tonight, but I'm sure she has forgotten! She'll be surprise

THE TREE IS DONE!!!! Last night, we finally finished the tree. Chasity loved it! Except for the ornaments at the tip top, she put them all on. We even held her up to let her put the Angel on the top of the tree. She was so excited. As soon as Tony came in from work, "Daddy, Daddy, can we do the tree now?!" Of course, his answer was, "Can I please take my shoes off first?" As soon as he got his shoes off, she started again. He finally convinced her to let him sit down for a few minutes. His few minutes turned into an hour and a half nap!! Around 7pm she woke him up yelling "DADDY!! WE HAVE TO DO THE TREE!!! IT'S DARK OUTSIDE!!!" (She bases all her time on dark and light. If it's light, she can play and not sleep. Dark means it's getting late and she should be in the bed!) So, the tree is up! Yes, there is an eclectic mixture on the tree, but that's what you get with a 5 year old. We have the traditional colored lights. Blue and silver garlan

So I'm sure that in the next couple of weeks, I will be blogging about Christmas. I love Christmas! (Oh yeah...covered that already!) So, last night we finally put up the Christmas tree! Well... we didn't actually get the whole thing done. The three is up. The lights are on. There's no garland on it. There are no ornaments on it! So, technically, we don't have the tree "up" yet! My munchkin has dance on Thursday nights. She's taking jazz, tap, and ballet this year, so we don't get out of class until 7:30pm. Last night, they had their class Christmas party, so it was almost 8pm when we got home. Not bad! We started with the tree then. However, when the pizza arrived we had to stop to eat. By then, it was 9pm. Munchkin goes to bed at 9pm so she'll get up at 6:30am! We were going to just leave the ornaments for tonight, but then we decided to leave the garland and ornaments till tonight. At the moment, the tree looks like this!! Lights and a tree skir

It's Over...

Wow! That's sounds a little more final than it is I guess. The semester is over! I finished my last paper yesterday at about 8pm. I submitted it. Now I just have to wait for grades. The way I fugure it, and I have been figuring it, I should have all A's this semester. I worked really hard to get A's so that I can have a 4.0 for the semester. I'm hoping to have a 4.0 for all my Graduate School work. That way in the top of my Grad School class! (Yes, I want people to notice me!) We have sold two things on eBay. First we sold the black pants... Today, someone bought a cute (brand new) purple snowsuit. It's adorable. Chasity has one just like it! Next year, we will probably have to get rid of Chasity's. The one I sold was given to us and it was REALLY small when we got it. However... we already had one in the correct size. I just have to hope it still fits. If not, I guess I could list it this year! Well... the eBay money is going to help pay for C

Thinking... I know, It's Dangerous!

Last night, I made my first sale on eBay. Black pants. How funny that I sold some black pants! That is somewhat symbolic of my life! I all I ever wear is black--pants anyways. I wear colors and patterns in my shirts, but all my pants (not all but most) are black! Anyone who knows me knows that anywhere I go, I'm usually wearing black....somewhere on my body! Anyways, so I have to go mail that off to her today! I'm excited! Now, if the rest of everything that is on there will just sell, I will be glad! I put things on there that Chasity has outgrown. I put things on there that were given to us, but she wouldn't be in them for a couple more years. I've been looking at pictures of Chasity recently. I don't know why, but I guess I miss the little little girl she used to be. No, don't get me wrong, I don't miss waking up at 2am and 4am. I don't miss spit up and acid reflux. I don't miss diapers. However, I guess it's just this time of y

eBay

So, Tony told me that I have to get a job. I have a job!! I'm a full time graduate student! Unfortunately, that job doesn't help pay the bills. I have to make real money... the green stuff with dead Presidents printed on it! So, I went upstairs to my office (where my Mary Kay business is run--not well, but it's still in there!) to think about finding a job. I have had a stack of really cute kids clothes and NASCAR stuff sitting on the far side of my office for a few months--some of it over a year! I decided it was time to do what I said I was going to do with it. eBay it! So I started putting stuff on eBay! It's really easy! It's really addictive also! Right now, I have about 15-16 things on eBay. I finish my classes on Wednesday. My last assignments are due then. So, I will finish putting stuff on eBay then! At some point, I hope to clean out most of the far side of my office... except of course for the coffee table, love seat, and ottoman that match t

Back to normal...Whatever that is!!

As you can tell by my being here to write this, I survived being a "single mom" for a week. It's nothing I want to do permanently; that's for sure! Chasity and I made it through the week without any major injuries. We also made it through Thanksgiving. Wow! Ever since two of the largest families in the church combined through marriage in July, Thanksgiving has gotten huge! I remember when we all went to my Grandmother's house for Thanksgiving. That tradition ended when she had to be put in to a nursing home. Then we went to Mom's house for Thanksgiving. However now...so that most of the family (except my brother's in-laws) are together all at one time, we have a HUGE get together... at the church fellowship hall. It works out well though. The kids have room to run and play--inside and out. This year there was a ping pong table set up, so we all played that. (Most of us lost miserably to my brother!) Then after lunch, we all played BUZZWORD! Th
