"Bucket List" for 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I'm simply amazed that 2017 has ended and today begins 2018! My motto for this year is "It's going to be great in 2-0-1-8!" (You have to say the numbers separately for it to sound right!) Anyways, I made a list of goals for this year. Some of them are things I have done before, but I want to do again. Some of them are things I've never done, but I want to challenge myself. I didn't make any RESOLUTIONS this year. I guess if I were to make one, it would be to do things that make me a better person, a happier person.  I read somewhere, and shared with my Sunday School teens, that only 12% of people actually succeed in completing their New Year's Resolutions. It also said that about 1/3 of people never actually get started with them at all. That sounds bad, but the reason given for it is that if people say "I'm going to lose weight," but they don't put in the meal planning, correct grocery shopping, and daily wo...

Happy New Year--2017!!

It's official!  We have made it out of 2016!!  There were some good things that happened this year. On the other hand, there were some bad. In the public eye, we lost a lot of good people (or at least good actors/actresses/singers). The funniest thing I saw at the end of 2016 was the guy who started the GoFundMe page to protect Betty White from death. I'm not sure who he was planning to pay off, but I guess it worked.  Now.... what's he going to do with any money that people donated?  In our family, we had quite a few doctors visits, ER visits, and hospital stays last year. Mom started it in February. She took a fall at work and it cut her knee pretty badly.  She's still suffering the effects of that fall--her knee still hurts horribly. Then I got sick over the summer. The doctors found the aneurisms behind my eyes. They never figured out why I am having headaches, but as my Dad says, "If I had a head like that and it didn't hurt, I'd have it checke...

December 20th-January 1st!

Image
I have not been in hiding for almost two weeks. Although, there is a chance that I have avoided doing anything that could remotely be considered “routine” during this time.   December 19th was the last day that I worked for 2013.  (It was supposed to be Tony’s last day for the year too!)   December 20th, Tony and I spent the day at the Princess’s school assisting with the in-class parties. I am the chair of the Social Committee at the school for the PTC (Parent Teacher Committee).  My committee and I planned the in-class parties for 39 classrooms and 700 kids!  OMG!  (NOTE: This is not a top of the list thing to ever do again!)   Dec. 21-24, we worked on getting everything ready for Christmas. Our tree was up and decorated over Thanksgiving break, but that was all we had.  We had not purchased gifts or anything.  We had had NO TIME!  So…we crammed it into 4 days!  We got it done!   I did have to go to Walgreens on C...

What Just Happened??

I just spent two hours (yep!  You read that correctly--TWO HOURS) working on a post with pictures and details from 2012.  It was 2012 in Review.  I used Windows Live Writer, like I always do when I am posting pics.  Then it wouldn't let me post.  It also wouldn't let me save.  So now.... I have NOTHING to show for those two hours I just worked. Maybe.... I will put the time in to try it again.  However, I will probably just post random things from 2012 in Review and not do the entire post over!  I hate when that happens.  I wish I knew how to get Blogger to work when I'm posting pics.  Anyways..... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

New Year, New Thoughts.....

WOW!  It has been almost 4 months since I have written. There are so many things that have happened since September.  I started working. I interviewed for another job. I didn't get the other job. I have been on Christmas break since December 20th @ 3pm. :)  Now, I am going to set a goal for myself.  I don't normally do resolutions.  I tend to break them quickly. But, when I set goals, I tend to keep them.... at least for longer.  My goal is to write daily this year.  Even if I don't have anything mind-blowing to write about.  I want to write, at least a sentence or 3, every day.  I think it would be good for my soul to write things out. Maybe if I get in the habit of writing, I will have a good habit of writing. Of course, I just watched the movie "Julie and Julia" yesterday.  I would LOVE to come up with something like that to write about.  For now, I think I will settle for just writing a little about life every day....

January 1, 2011

I have decided that I want to write more often. I would love to write daily, but I may not be able to hold myself to that one....so more often than 2010 is good for now! Let's take this "one day at a time". There are many things I need to reflect on from 2010.... losing my Grandmother finishing student teaching filing for my teaching license Christmas But for now, I'll focus on last night. At church every year, we get together, starting at 9pm. We play games, eat, more games, definitely more eating, then we pray the new year in and the old year out. So last night we played "Mexican Train Dominoes"! LOVE IT! If you've never played, run out to WalMart and get your set today! It's SOOOOO fun! As for everything else that I want to reflect on, that has to wait! For today..... I woke up at 11am. I'm DVRing the Rose Parade (so I can watch without commercials later). I'm currently watching "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". L...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year....Post 200!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I think it's appropriate that my 1st post for 2010 is my 200th post! I think it's pretty cool! I just wish I had something really profound to say! lol I am praying for more profound things to write/say this year! 2009 was really hard for me and my family. We are looking forward to greater things to come in 2010. Until next time........
