Snow Day #3 & 4, President’s Day, Going Back to Work

Image
Snow Day #3 for the year was Thursday of last week.  We actually still had snow falling.  Then all of a sudden, it stopped.  Every school in the 22 surrounding counties (and most all of the schools in the state) were closed that day and Friday!    We ended up with about 8” of snow total!  It was crazy!   Snow Day #4 was Friday!  OMG!  After being stuck at home Wed and Thurs, I was pretty sure that the Princess was going to go nuts!  But, she didn’t. Her teacher sent home assignments. She completed them.  All is right with the world.   Friday night, we had our first Girl Scout Cookie booth.  Saturday we had 3 booths.  Sunday, we rested!     Then….Monday…..  President’s Day.  Wow! That was a heck of a week off!  The Princess had my niece over Sunday night.  That kept her entertained yesterday!   Now….  I’m awake (or so I keep telling myself)!  I’m getting ...

9500, Day 11, Getting things done

Image
9500?  That’s an odd number out of context. Right?  However, in just a day or two, that is going to be the number of page views I have had on this blog. I know…for some people, 9500 is a month. I never thought anyone else would read what I am writing, so I’m excited that I have gotten this in the years I have been blogging.   Yes, I would love to be able to make money from my blog. Yes, I would love to write something that would have thousands of followers. Yes, I would love for something I write to go “viral”. For now, and forever if need be, I will be content with my 9500 pageviews and the consistent readers that I have.       Day 11 of Thankfulness:  Today, it’s really the little things that I’m thankful for. I’m thankful that I got to sleep 3 extra hours this morning. (Sounds pathetic, but I’m a little more rested.) I’m also thankful that the girls that the Princess and her friends are all still sleeping!!!!   Yesterday, I handed...

Spring Break—Day 4

Image
I’m not sure it’s Spring outside today.    Right now, I can hear the sleet hitting my windows.    Earlier this week, it was 70 degrees.  Next week, it’s supposed to be 80 degrees.  I guess the sleet and cold temps just came to say good-bye.        I love the cold weather!  This year, I guess since I’m getting older, the cold has been harder on my body.  I have had a harder time getting warm than normal.  But, I still prefer cold weather to hot. My philosophy: You can add more layers than you can take off.  After a while, someone will call the cops if you take off too much!   Today I have two sleeping 9 year-olds in the next room.  When they get up, they are going to play and play and probably play some more!    Tonight, we have uniform pick up for softball.   Tomorrow we have practice.   Saturday we have our first two games!  (We have the double header thi...

Spring Break—Day 3.

Image
Today, I got up at 8am.  I have been searching online for houses for a friend.  She and her family are looking to move and I was helping search.  I found a few and sent them to her.  Hopefully, she will find something.     I am in the middle of planning the Daddy-Daughter dance for Girl Scouts.  It is going to be a Luau this year!  At this moment, I have no one to help me.  But…. it will all work out.     Yesterday, the Princess and I worked on her bedroom.  Then we worked on the playroom.  My parents came over and Mom helped in the playroom.  Today, we have to finish her room so that my niece can come stay tonight.  (She and the Princess have been plotting this for WEEKS now!)    Today, I have some errands to run. We are working on the bedroom.  Then I might take a nap.  It IS Spring Break after all!

Spring Break—Day 2

Image
Yesterday, I ended up getting up WAY TOO EARLY.  However, I did go back to bed for a little bit.  My Princess woke up at 11am yesterday!     Today, I slept until 7am!  I was hoping for 8 or 8:30 every day!  But, 7 is an extra 3 hours.  This summer, I will get more sleep.  I just have to get used to sleeping through Tony’s alarm.  (I can’t do that in a week because I will sleep through my alarm on Monday, if I do!)   The Princess is still asleep this morning.  When she gets up, we are going to eat breakfast (or lunch-fast, if it’s 11am again!)!!  Then we are going to work on her room.  Since we moved, we have not finished organizing stuff.  Plus, she has lots of clothes that are getting too small that I need to get out of the drawers.    Added motivation: If she cleans her room, her cousin can come stay over either tonight or tomorrow night!   (She might actually get some work done with that ...

It Didn't Turn Out As Planned

So we picked up the surprise guest on Thursday. She was fine until 10:30pm last night. THAT is when she started crying wanting her mommy. Unfortunately, it was supposed to be her weekend at Daddy's house. So her mom was working her 2nd job. She was not going to be off work until 2am (today). I have known these people for 11 years, but I never once got Madison's dad's phone number. Oops.... might want to get that for next time! lol Anyways....we convinced her that everything would be fine and we could call her mom today. Of course, I was honestly hoping she would be fine and just agree to stay again tonight. HOWEVER.... we went to get something to eat around 6:30pm and she decided to remind us that she hasn't talked to her mom about going home. Well, I have no voice! When I open my mouth, NOTHING comes out! Okay! AIR comes out, but no sound! (That's going to make for great singing at church tomorrow!) So, I pulled up her mom's number in my phone. Dial...

Busy Saturday!

Well...last night Chasity had dance. The schedule is off this week because of dance pictures at the studio. Today Chasity has dance pictures. However, that does NOT begin our day! lol First Chasity has to go to school. Mom and I are taking her because we are heading to a big Consignment Sale. We might even hit a yard sale or two. We love doing that! :) Then after I get Chasity from school, I have to count Girl Scout Cookies. We have our final weekend of selling cookies at booths...today and tomorrow. There are 3 booths in the mix! We are going to run out of some flavors... I know that, but we are going to have SOME left over! We will figure out what to do with them...I hope! As soon as I'm finished counting GS Cookies, Chasity has dance pictures. She has these two cute little outfits to wear. I'll post pics, but only after my mom sees them. They are a surprise to her! She also gets to wear make-up for the pics. I'll make her look natural though...I hate make...

Today's the Day........

Right now, I'm trying not to get nervous. I hate going to job fairs. I really need a job, but I just wish that someone would call me and say "Hello? Leslie? I have a job for you. Come Monday and fill out all the paperwork." I can stand in front of churches and groups of people and sing and talk, but I hate talking to people one-on-one. That's probably why I haven't gotten a job yet. I hate interviews and they can tell it. (It's like a dog smelling fear. I'm afraid of all dogs, and they know it!) After the job fair, I have to get Chasity packed. She's having a sleepover at "Auntie Lisie's" house. My child has always called my sister Lisa, but now that's she's 5, she has regressed. She says things like "handie", "armie", "nosey", and "Lisie". I don't know. I guess she feels that she's going up too quickly and wants to go back! lol Anyways.... I have to go straighten my...
