Mother’s Day

Every year, Mother’s Day is emotional for me.

I’m lucky blessed to have a wonderful mother.  Although she and I don’t see eye-to-eye on everything (many things!) I know that she loves me unconditionally.  I love her, for that and so many other reasons!

 

I’m very blessed to have the best kid in the world too! Smile  I know we all think that.  But, really, mine is the best! Smile  She’s awesome.  I love her more than anything in the world.

 

However, today is sad because Tony’s mom is no longer with us.  This year, all the dates aligned exactly the same as they did in 2002!  Tony’s mom passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2002.  Her funeral was Saturday, May 11, 2002.  It’s really hard when you look at something and see the days and dates like that! 

So, this afternoon, after church, we will be going to Mt. Airy to put flowers on his mom’s grave.  We do it every year…. most major holidays and days that were special to her! Smile  She was awesome.  I can’t imagine how much more spoiled the Princess would be if she were still here! Smile  (I don’t know if the Princess being more spoiled is a good thing or a bad thing!  LOL)

 

So, I hope that all my mom friends have a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!  My day will be with family and hopefully, it will be relaxing!

Emotional Easter

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? My Goodie Box!

Recently, I participated in a swap over at Dandelion Wishes by Mamarazzi! My partner was Lisa from Like a Valentine ! This was awesome. I was so excited the whole time putting stuff together for my partner. Then I was like a kid at Christmas when I got my package from Lisa. There are some simple rules to the swap.... check out the next one that she does! Anyways... one of the rules is that you take pics and make a post about the goodies that you received. So.... I know these pics and some of the info are repeats from what I did in my 100th post, but I needed a separate post..... just for the swap!
