Mama's Holiday Wish List Meme

I know I haven't been here in a WHILE! However....today I'm using this "no I haven't fallen off the face of the earth" post to enter to win in the TodaysMama contest that she is holding! If you would like, you can enter too. However, I would really like to win! So.... here's my entry!

You can check out all the details about the GRAND PRIZE here.

Mama's Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter to win I'm sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?

I want everyone to be safe, happy, and healthy. I hope we can remember that it's not the gift that matters, but the giver that counts. And...above all, I hope that we can remember that the real reason for Christmas is not the lights and tinsel....it's Jesus Christ.

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?

Luckily, our daughter normally likes to sleep. So...we usually (every year so far) have to wake her up. Just wait...this will be the year she is up at sunrise! lol Anyways, we all get up and brush our teeth. Then the hubs and I go to the living room and get in position for pictures as our daughter comes into the room. I have the same shot every year of her walking around the corner! :) That's the best part of Christmas....seeing her face!

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

It may sound funny, but this year, my wish would be for a job. I have been working to get my teaching license. I finish up in just a couple of weeks, so I would ask Santa to bring me a job.

If I had a job, and didn't need one from Santa, I would DEFINITELY ask him for a trip (first class of course) to Ireland for my family! I have been. It's part of my heritage. I'd love to take my hubs and our daughter!

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

We get together with my entire family! We play games and watch TV. We eat (ok...that did cost money I guess). We listen as my dad reads the Christmas story from the Bible. We are just together.....that's how it's special.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

I live in the South. So, it is hardly ever FREEZING at Christmas (no matter how much I pray for snow)!! So...we played tag and kickball and baseball on Christmas. Inside, we would play Sorry and Hungry Hungry Hippos and Rummy!

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

Most of the traditions that I participate in have been continued from my childhood. On Christmas Eve, we go to my parents' house. When I was growing up we went to MY Grandmother's house. Then on Christmas morning, my parents come to see what Santa brought for my daughter. My grandparents used to do that for us! The family all gets together to eat, goof off, and exchange gifts. Everything is just about the same.... except the locations have changed from MY grandparents house to my parents' house.... and of course now there are MANY MANY more people! :)

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

Wow! I never considered that I could go anywhere other than home for Christmas.

I guess I would like to see NYC at Christmas time. I'd love to go to Paris or Italy. But.... as Dorothy said in the "Wizard of Oz".... "There's no place like home".

8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop wish list this year?

Considering that my daughter has made her Christmas List.... I didn't even have to go to the page to see what I wanted from GameStop. Of course, I've already been to visit my local store to see what they have available off the list! lol

The TOP THREE ITEMS my daughter wants....
1. Xbox (with controllers---we keep telling her that they come together, but she's worried that she won't get any controllers)
2. Batman Lego Game for Xbox
3. Pink DS--with the Harry Potter Lego Game

Yep..... She has hit that stage where she is VERY specific about what she wants. Of course, she even told me what color clothes Barbie "needs" this year!

All I can say is that I really hope that I win this (like everyone else who has entered). Otherwise, my daughter is going to have to PICK what she really wants... lol

Until next time..... HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
