550—The Best Things in Life

WOW!

 

Can you believe today is my 550th post?  I can’t believe I have had that much to talk about!

 

Ok! OK!  So, some days I really don’t have that much to talk about, but you guys/gals “listen” anyways.

 

Today, I wish I had something fabulous to say today, but I don’t really.

 

Yesterday, I was looking through pics of the Oklahoma tornado ruins.  There was a pile of rubble and in the top of it there was a plaque (or frame or something).  It simply said, “The best things in life aren’t things.”

 

If you think about it….. 

They aren’t!

The best things in life aren’t the cars and houses and jewelry.  They are the friends, family, love! 

 

So just think about that today as we continue to love on the people of Oklahoma through this tragedy.  They will rebuild.  They are strong.  Let’s show them….they are LOVED!

Emotional Easter

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? My Strange Collection--But Not Strange to Me!

Recently (just a minute ago) I visited Avr over at Just to Write . Today she is talking about things we collect. She collects unicorns. So in her comments today, I added my comment: Well... I collect Salt & Pepper shakers. I have been collecting them as long as I can remember. The rule is that they have to be unusual AND I don't buy them for myself! They have to come from other people....My Grandmother has the beginnings of my collection at her house. Some of them date back to WWII. Her uncle sent them here from overseas when he was fighting in WWII. So that is why I started collecting.... HOWEVER... I too have a collection of unicorn stuff. It has been packed up for a couple years now. I have seriously thought about putting it on eBay just to get rid of it. I started collecting those on my 7th bday. A friend gave me one for my bday and I loved it. Then I would see them everywhere. Then it became an obsession for a while! lol Now I think I'm just going to stic
