Day #6—Thankful

Today, I’m thankful for my siblings. Donnie and Lisa are awesome people. They are always there when I need them. We have a lot of fun together, when we actually have time to be together. Smile

 

Donnie is 3.5 calendar years (4 school years) older than me. In some ways, until I graduated,  I lived in his shadow. That made me a better student. I tried really hard to prove that I was just as good, if not better than, he was.

 

Lisa is 9.5 years younger than me. She’s very different than the rest of us. She “marches to the beat of her own drum”. But, most of the time, I actually like her.

 

Growing up, there were days they both got on my nerves. Now, I don’t know what I would do without them.

Aww siblings...Your post brought to memory my hearing a christian comedian years ago talk about his "church relatives," he said "You don't have to like me, but you gotta love me because we're blood relatives." His name was Mike Warneke.

Emotional Easter

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? My Strange Collection--But Not Strange to Me!

Recently (just a minute ago) I visited Avr over at Just to Write . Today she is talking about things we collect. She collects unicorns. So in her comments today, I added my comment: Well... I collect Salt & Pepper shakers. I have been collecting them as long as I can remember. The rule is that they have to be unusual AND I don't buy them for myself! They have to come from other people....My Grandmother has the beginnings of my collection at her house. Some of them date back to WWII. Her uncle sent them here from overseas when he was fighting in WWII. So that is why I started collecting.... HOWEVER... I too have a collection of unicorn stuff. It has been packed up for a couple years now. I have seriously thought about putting it on eBay just to get rid of it. I started collecting those on my 7th bday. A friend gave me one for my bday and I loved it. Then I would see them everywhere. Then it became an obsession for a while! lol Now I think I'm just going to stic
