Thinking about My Dream Job

As we all know, I'm a teacher.

I was born to be a teacher.

Being a teacher is my calling!

As of lately, I have been teaching children's church, and I love that!  It's not half as stressful as a full-time classroom teaching job. (Best grading!!)

I have also been teaching at the daycare, when needed.

I have been substitute teaching, as well.

Some days, I come home in love with teaching. Some days, I come home wishing I had never stepped foot into a classroom.

However, teaching is my dream job.

Now, as the Princess gets closer and closer (about 9 1/2 weeks) to finishing middle school, I keep thinking how logistically, things are going to change next year.

For the past three years, she has had a 9am-4pm (or later if she stayed after for clubs or softball) schedule. Next year, she's going to have a 7:15am-2:15pm schedule.

I've lived that schedule. I wasn't a fan of going to work in the dark!!!

Now, I've been thinking that I'd love to find something to do from home, so I didn't have to worry about getting her to/from school. In all honesty, getting her TO school will not be an issue, most days. The bus comes around 6:30am. That means that Tony could put her on the bus if I work at another high school that morning.

The afternoons will be tricky though. If I work at a middle school, she will be home alone for over an hour. We have never left her home for more than 30 minutes at a time.... that was on days that I was driving home from another school (and her bus got her before I did!)!!!   Most days, I could meet the bus and she wasn't home alone.

Yes, I know she's 13 and it's ok for her to stay home alone, but I also know there are crazy people out there.  So... NO.... she's not going to be alone!

Back to me (haha!) though! I'd love to find something to do from home. Something legitimate! Something I could bring in enough money to cover some of the bills.  (Or.... cover some vacations!!) :)

I am a tutor. I wrote about that here; check it out.

I am a crafter. I have a page called Heartwork by Leslie. I work with vinyl designs. (I promise a post with more information and pictures about that soon!) Go check out my previous work. Like the page.

I'm also a travel agent. I am an agent through InteleTravel. It's the original at home company for travel agents. (I will give more information on that soon too!)  We guarantee the lowest prices on travel. Check out my page here. If you travel often, want to make extra money, or know people who love to travel, there is a way to join my team. Just let me know you are interested and I'll get you the information!  It's a great way to make extra money; I just don't put myself out there enough to build it. I know I should!

But, for me, my dream job would require me to be on my own schedule, let me wear what's comfortable, and only leave my house when I want to. I know I'm called to teach, but is there a way I can do that from the comfort of my own home?

To be honest, if I had a job at home, I'd probably homeschool the Princess just so she should work everything at her own pace. Some things she'd fly through. Others she'd work at longer. (Is it possible to finish 2 years of English in 1 year?) :)

If anyone knows of a way to work from home (LEGITIMATELY!!!) let me know!  I'd love to have something to do!!

What is your dream job?  Are you working it currently?
