The World According to Leslie

 Today is one of those days where I may flood the world with pictures. I really wish we would have had time to stop at some of the overlooks on the way up and home on Saturday.  Around 6:30am, we left home for Banner Elk, North Carolina. I love going to the mountains, and I am sure you ALL know that already! I go to the mountains to be able to clear my head and breathe deeply. It doesn't matter what time of year it is; I love being at a higher elevation. These are just some of the pictures I took on my phone as Tony was driving. I love taking pictures of nature.  The leaves were at peak color or very close to it. It was beautiful.  These pictures are all after we hit the deer. I can’t believe that I haven’t written in over a week. How could I let that happen?  I have had so much to talk about in the past week!   1. Yesterday was my brother’s birthday. He is now 39 years old.   2. School has been great. The students are good. They announced yesterday that they are officially finished with schedule changes, so I should not have to worry about any kids moving into or out of my classes now.   3. Over the weekend, Tony, my parents, the Princess, and I went to Boone. We stayed in an awesome condo. I now have more things to check when I ask about places to stay. Internet….check. Handicap accessible…sorta check. (It was all one level, but the doors were very narrow and there was no walk in shower.) Central heat/AC….NO! Well, I don’t know about heat because it was in the 80s while we were there, but there was only a WINDOW unit in the place!  Can’t believe I didn’t see that on the description!   I will check better next time. ...

We just got back from our vacation.  We came back on Wednesday.  However, we needed Thursday to recover!  lol  Isn’t that how it always goes?  You need a vacation to relax from a vacation? So, here are some of the highlights. First, we went to Boone, NC.  We stayed not far from Appalachian State University!  (I attended ASU as a college freshman!  It has changed A LOT since then!) The hotel where we stayed was great!  There was an indoor pool, but the tub in our room was big enough to be a small one-person pool for Chasity!  She just had to get in (clothes on and NO water) so that I could get a picture of the size!  She loved it!!     We were supposed to visit Tweetsie Railroad.  Chasity won tickets through her Girl Scout Cookie sales this year.  However, on July 4th, the day we planned to go, it was stormy all day.  The thunderstorms finally went away around 7pm.  The park closed at 9pm....
