The World According to Leslie

Ever heard the saying “It has to get worse before it will get better”??   Well, that’s how I feel about my body right now.  I feel like the pain, soreness, stiffness are all getting worse.  I can only hope that this week, the pain, soreness, and stiffness will start going away!   My ankles are still swollen.  I’m not sure how I’m going to get my boots on to wear to work today!  But… I will.   I just wish I could take the cold.  I would totally submerge myself in an ice bath—like the athletes in the movies do!     For today, I’m just looking at the positive!  Only 24 more days until Summer break!

So….since you are reading this, you know I survived! I thought I might die! But…alas…I didn’t! However, I’m pretty sure my body hates me!  AND…if I never have to do a 5K again…well, it will be TOO soon!   Times: Tony and the Princess—1 hour 6 minutes and some seconds Me—1 hour 14 minutes and 58 seconds!  Less than 1 hour 15 minutes! AND… I did NOT finish last!   (That was my goal… not to finish last!)   So… my feet, legs, arms, shoulders, and fingers hurt, but we lived through it.    After the 5K, the Princess played softball and hit a ball over the 3rd baseman’s head into the outfield!    (Should have been a double, but I think she was a little tired of running!  LOL)  Her team won!  GO TARHEELS!

Yesterday was the BLUR! Finished burning CDs for the LUAU. Food shopping for the LUAU. Store the food in a cold place until the LUAU. Softball—we won!  By 1 point! Pick food up and get to Luau location. Decorate and cook (with the help of about 20 people who came!) LUAU! Tear down and clean up! (With the help of lovely people!)   The only problem with a day like that is that I am not supposed to stand up/be on my feet for more than about 15-30 minutes at time.  I went from 5pm-8pm without sitting.  I was running around.  Finally, I had to stop and ice down my back. This morning, my head was throbbing. My back hurt so much I could barely breathe. My feet were still swollen. I was just exhausted.   So….  we didn’t make it to church.  I got up.  Ate breakfast.  Sat on the couch for about an hour.  Came back upstairs and went to bed.  I finally got up at 4pm.  I think that going back to work...

I can't believe that we are still going through this!! Two years ago (almost to the day) Chasity had double ear infections. So, I took her to the doctor. Ten days later her ears were still hurting so I took her back. Ear infection only in one ear. Ten days and a different antibiotic later we went back to the doctor because she's still hurting. Ten days and ANOTHER different antibiotic later (I didn't know there were so many kinds of antibiotics to take) we went back to the doctor to find out the infection is in the OTHER ear. By this time, I'm really getting aggrivated. So I asked for a referral to the ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat dr.). Our pediatrician said that we could try ONE MORE round of antibiotics. So we did. FIVE days later when both ears are oozing stuff everywhere we went back to the pediatrician. Instead of a referral to the ENT, Chasity got two shots of antibiotics.
