Looking Glass Falls and a College Visit

A couple of weeks ago, Tony, Chasity and I went to tour Brevard College. It is one of a few trips we have taken for college tours lately.  After the tour, the Admissions Counselor told us to check out the town and be sure to stop by Looking Glass Falls.  The falls were full because it had been raining for a couple days during the week. This picture may be better than the ones they have in the brochure.  Chasity's application for Brevard is complete. She is awaiting her acceptance letter.  We are going back in December for Scholarship Day to see how many scholarships she will be able to get in order to pay for her schooling.  She has at least 4 acceptance letters already. She is waiting on a couple more. Next week is college application week, so she will be submitting a few applications that week (since the schools are waiving the application fees that week)!!   Send good thoughts and prayers for her to be able to make the decision for the school she ne...

It's Novemeber Already

Every year about this time, I realize that it's almost Thanksgiving. Then I notice that Christmas is only a month later with the new year following that. You would think that I would have figured out that time was flying by, but I haven't. I keep getting blind-sided by it every year... hoping that I will eventually catch up and not be so surprised. I have actually done a lot this year, but it still seems like I haven't. At the beginning of 2019, I was back in the classroom teaching. I started a job in September teaching English (all 9th grade classes, all day!) at the biggest rival to my alma mater. Anyone who knows me knows where I was, and they will understand the degree of difficulty! The students were typical high school students...some good days, some bad days.
