Not So Bad

So even though it took a little longer than I had planned, I DID get my homework finished. The other two things I have to turn in (should have turned in already) are just papers I have to type up about things I saw/did while I was observing at MPHS! Now, I'm getting ready to head to the Girl Scout leaders meeting. We are going to get some stuff planned for the girls for January to the end of the year. :) I'm glad I have good help this year so that we can get lots done. Last year was a learning year for all of us! Hopefully I learned enough to NOT do last year over! lol Good thing there's no REWIND on life....right? Until next time........

One of Those Days

Thanksgiving was wonderful. My siblings and our families all got together at my sister's house. Lisa and Joe had just come in the day before from their Cruise to Mexico, so they were a little tired, but they still cooked a great turkey! Donnie and I cooked/brough the other stuff to go with it! Mom and Dad came home on Saturday! Tony, Lisa, Joe, Chasity, and I all went to their house for pizza Saturday night! We stayed there WAY too late! lol Sunday, Dad had to run the sound at church because Joe was sick! :( BUT.... it was great! That's the first time Dad has done that since his wreck! I'm glad he's feeling some better. However, he's very tired from doing that yesterday. Today, however, is starting off a little rough. My mother has already called 3 times for me to bring the copy of the daycare bank deposit to the daycare. (I did!) Chasity's school called to tell me that I needed to come see some boxes that were in the work room. (I did! I told them

In a Perfect World

In a perfect world, I'd have all my assignments finished. I would know exactly what's going to go into my unit plan. I wouldn't have to worry about it. In a perfect world, I'd have a job that helped my husband pay the bills and we wouldn't have to stress out about Christmas this year. In a perfect world, my parents would be home for Thanksgiving instead of travelling to TN. In a perfect world, I would be able to get everything done. And, I'd want to do it. However, since my world (nor anyone else's) is perfect, I have no idea what is going to go into my unit plan that is due on Monday afternoon. I have no idea when I'll have time to look up things to include or actually even type it up. In my world, I don't have a job. I have worked very little (including at the daycare) since January. I have no idea how we are going to do Christmas this year....even just for Chasity. However, the Lord is faithful and I will continue to trust HIM for everythin

Oprah Effect

Really, I'm not much of an Oprah fan. I watched her show SOME while I was in college. It made for good writing in my English classes. However, I started thinking. Do we really think that Oprah would have decided to "retire", as much as owning/running your own network will let you, if Obama had not been voted in as President? Do we seriously think that she would have left America without an African-American President AND without the Oprah Winfrey Show? Personally, I don't care. But... I was just thinking about it. Until next time........

Brain Freeze

You know how when you eat ice cream too fast your brain "freezes"? Well, I have brain freeze (in a manner of speaking) today, and I haven't been eating ice cream. :( I have to write 5 lesson plans for my online English class at UNCC. I am having problems doing that. As you can tell from my post, I am not having "writer's block". I can write. I just can't plan. So is that "planner's block"? I can only hope that I get them done soon. I have to email them in by 5pm today! :( WOW! Usually I can work under pressure. Today not even THAT is helping me. Here I go to plan away..... Until next time........

Who Are My Congressmen/Congresswomen?

So Monday night at Girl Scouts, the girls/parents decided we want to think about planning a trip to Washington, DC. I have only been through at about 80 mph, so I have never seen the Washington Monument or the White House or the Pentegon. I have never seen any of the historic sites....except the ones that can be seen from the Interstate blurred at 80 mph! (NOPE! I wasn't driving! I was trying to make out the blurs!) So, I have heard that if we go when Congress is "in", or maybe other times too, that our Representatives can get us a Tour of places that aren't normally available! So... my question is....WHO ARE MY REPRESENTATIVES? I voted, but I don't know them. And.... I don't think the ones I voted for are in office anyways! lol I know there has to be a site somewhere that tells me who my Representatives are. But.... I can't seem to find it. If anyone knows, please share! Once we set a date (or approximate date), I need to contact him/her to see a

How Do You Do It All?

Ever since school started on August 25, 2008, my friends/family/random people that I talk to have been asking me how I get everything done. For those of you who do not know, Aug. 25, 2008, is the date that Chasity started Kindergarten and I started Graduate School. Other than School and normal family stuff (laundry, dishes, meals, etc.) I am also a member of the PTO board at Chasity's school. I am her Girl Scout Troop leader. I am on the Service Unit (area) Team for Girl Scouts. I am on the Praise and Worship team at church. Chasity has dance. In the Spring, if she wants to again, Chasity has baseball. When I tell people everything we do, their first question is "How do you get it all done?". My answer is always simple.... CALENDARS! lol I have a calendar that I carry with me (datebook--it's cute too!). I have one that goes on my desk here at the house. The desk one is small/thin enough that I can throw it in a notebook or backpack to add stuff to when I

Catching Up!

You'd never know by the amount of posts that I have put up lately (haha!) that I have been swamped! I love school. That's probably why after I had a 5 year break, I went back. I love English! Again...that's probably why I'm working on getting my license to teach High School English! I LOVE IT! However, I don't love paperwork. Ok...I'm lying. I do love it! I have had so much of it lately that I'm not really enthused about it right now. Anyways, I'm starting to be able to see the bottom of the pile on my desk. So...I should get back to normal (however I define that) soon. School is almost over for the semester. I have completed my observations. All I have left are 3 big assignments. Two of which I need to be working on now, but I'd rather blog. lol Last week, I even wrote out a blog to post, while I was observing in Mount Pleasant. However, I never got around to it, and now....well... it's old news.....even to me! :) Right now, there are just a few
