Final Party Touches and Blown Mind

Image
Yesterday, on Black Friday, instead of Christmas shopping, Tony, the Princess, and I went to WalMart and Sam’s Club to get all the things we needed to get for the party today. We still had plates, forks, spoons, and all that to get. We also had to get all the food.  We knew we wouldn’t have room before yesterday to make a place in the refrigerator for it, so we had to wait until yesterday to get it.   We didn’t leave the house until about 4pm. So….all the crazy Black Friday shoppers were already at home, asleep!      We got into Sam’s Club, got all the stuff we needed, and checked out in less than 2 hours.  I was suspecting about 4.  Then we got in and out of WalMart in about an hour.  That’s a new record for us.    Today, all I have to go get are the balloons for décor. We aren’t doing much, but I would like to have some balloons to make the room more festive. So, I have to get those.    Today, we also have to...

Thanksgiving Recap

I’m a little behind on here posting my “Thankfuls”.  I have them all on Facebook though.    Yesterday, we went to Mom and Dad’s house around noon. We were supposed to eat at 1pm, but someone ALWAYS has to be late! lol  This year it was my sister.   We had about 20 people at the house.  It was crazy.  After lunch, the guys all crowded into the living room to watch football!      My sister-in-law took a nap. My sister laid down with her two babies (foster daughters) to get them to sleep.  Mom and I worked on sewing things that the Girl Scouts are going to sell next weekend.    Then…once everyone finally woke up, we finished discussions for Mom and Dad’s anniversary party. The party is tomorrow. I’m just hoping I can get everything I need done by then so that I can get some sleep!  I need REST!  But….  I’m thinking I won’t get any of that until January!

Happy Halloween

I hope that everyone is having a great Halloween…or at least plans to!   Tonight, my Princess and my sister’s oldest foster daughter are going to be handing out candy to ghouls and goblins. The only thing I don’t like about our house (other than it’s hard to get up the stairs when I am exhausted at night…lol) is that we don’t have a storm door. So, tonight, when the “creatures” come, we have to open the entire house to them.   I am going to be working on invitations for my parents’ party. I still don’t have them made. Actually, the only one that is completely assembled is the one we used to invite Mom and Dad to the party!     At school today, the Princess is going to be Sadie from The Kane Chronicles. Since she attends a “uniform school,” she has to pay $1 to get to dress in anything other than the uniform. Yesterday was “Think Pink” day for Breast Cancer Awareness. The $1 went to cancer research!   Today, the $1 goes to the school as a fundrais...

Yesterday

We did a lot of NOTHING yesterday!   It was nice.   There was no softball for us.  So we didn’t have to get up AS early!   Tony is still working weekends. This is the 4th one….I think. I lost count. He has until the beginning of Nov. to work every weekend.   The Princess and I went to check out a couple of locations for a party we are helping to plan. One place is fabulous, bring in your own food and everything. The other place is pretty, but in order to be there you must use their catering service.  (From what I have heard, their caterers charge the equivalent of a small down payment on a house for the number of people we are going to be serving that night.)  So….  we are still looking, but we need to get something nailed down soon!    300-400 people is A LOT, but it will be worth it when it all comes together!

So much to say...

Have you ever had so much to do that you didn't know what to do first? Well, some of my stuff has actual dates on it. Like this weekend, we had Chasity's birthday party. A couple friends from school came. My entire family came. And... some people from church (who are close to us and who don't even have kids came)! It was great! There were two kiddie pools.... lots of water stuff to play with. The party lasted almost 4 hours by the time we got the last kid out of the water! Chasity was so adorable. She picked out a beautiful outfit to wear...before getting in the water. She got lots of really cool stuff (and more money than I currently have! lol)!!! Anyways... that's done and I can mark that off my calendar. However, I have a PTO luncheon coming up that I'm helping to serve the teachers for "Back to School". That's Wednesday. Then I'm scrapbooking on Saturday. I've been invited to a jewelry party on Friday night. Also, I start my c...
