I’m a little behind on here posting my “Thankfuls”.  I have them all on Facebook though.    Yesterday, we went to Mom and Dad’s house around noon. We were supposed to eat at 1pm, but someone ALWAYS has to be late! lol  This year it was my sister.   We had about 20 people at the house.  It was crazy.  After lunch, the guys all crowded into the living room to watch football!      My sister-in-law took a nap. My sister laid down with her two babies (foster daughters) to get them to sleep.  Mom and I worked on sewing things that the Girl Scouts are going to sell next weekend.    Then…once everyone finally woke up, we finished discussions for Mom and Dad’s anniversary party. The party is tomorrow. I’m just hoping I can get everything I need done by then so that I can get some sleep!  I need REST!  But….  I’m thinking I won’t get any of that until January!

Wow!  I can’t believe it’s been 5 days since I’ve written anything.  So, I’m going to try to catch up all the things I am thankful for.  I posted them on Facebook, so if you are my friend there, you already know these things, but I guess I just didn’t take the time to do it here.   Day 22: Thankful for Fridays. For some reason, this has been an EXTREMELY long week. Tonight we are going to the tree lighting and hanging out with family.   Day 23: I'm thankful for family time. Today, I got to sleep in....all the way to 8am! We may be heading to a Craft Bazaar at Hickory Ridge High School. We will be going to the Christmas parade in Concord....family tradition! We will be having fun knowing that the HOME team (CONCORD SPIDERS) are still undefeated for this season and moving on in the playoffs!   Day 24: I'm thankful for my nieces and nephews. So…I’m a day late on Father’s Day.  But….that’s because I was with my Father!     There is a running joke in our family.  I have an older brother and a younger sister.  We tell everyone that Donnie is the favorite.  DUH!  We all know that!  Then Lisa and I “fight” for favorite daughter.    Since I do a lot of stuff for my parents, more than my siblings, I tell them I know I’m the favorite.  I don’t do it because I want the attention.  I do it because I know they need the help.  I get a couple extra drinks at the store and take them over because I know my parents can’t carry them.  Mom’s knees are bad, and Dad is on a walker. (But…that’s a different story!)   So yesterday I posted on Facebook a Happy Father’s Day message to my dad and said it was from his “Favorite” daughter.  One of my friends accused me of trying to start a fight in the family.  I had to explain that it was all a big joke...

Tonight, we have awards for Girl Scouts.    Right now, I’m trying to write an article or two, but I’m having a hard time writing these.  I am wondering if I should just tell this guy that I am going to look for other things to write.  I can’t find information for the stuff….so I can’t write what he wants written.   Plus….I emailed him to ask questions about a couple of the articles, but I haven’t gotten a response.  Some of the articles are the same names—almost.    For example: Girl Scout Award Girl Scout Awards   See?  I don’t know how to write two articles about that!  They are the same thing…. I just need to know what he wants me to do.  The articles are due tomorrow.  I get so stressed out!!!  I’m sure he will answer… I just have to patient!    As for the awards, the girls are getting all their cookie prizes…. patches…..badges….and gifts tonight!  I have two girls who are br...

Today is my wedding anniversary.  Tony and I have been married for 12 years!  Poor guy has to put up with me all the time!     Yesterday, the girls won BOTH games of their double header.  Each of the other two teams has to play again.  We don’t have any more games until the tournament.  If each team wins one and each loses one game, then we will be in first place!   That means we don’t have to play until the final day for the championship!   That would be FABULOUS!!!!!!!!   It’s getting closer to the end of school.  We are beginning to plan vacations.  We are going to Hilton Head in June and Myrtle Beach in July.  We are also planning our trip to Gatlinburg in December!   We love the mountains.  Of course, the Princess earned tickets to Tweetsie again through Girl Scout cookie sales.  SO we will be going there again this year!   (Hopefully for the July 4th celebration they have! I have been awake since 5:30am!  On a Saturday!  ON PURPOSE!    Mom and I are going Yard selling this morning. Then we have a double-header for the Princess. Then my nephew has a game. Then my niece is singing the National Anthem at the local pro baseball team’s home game tonight.  She’s going to sing with her chorus group from school!  FABULOUS!  Can’t wait to see/hear that! Then we are going to stay for the game! Then we will come home and CRASH! Wow! That makes me tired already!  But….mom just called. She’s on the way!  Better get my hair dried!

Today is one of those days where I have a lot on my mind, but nothing really to say.   1. Only 23 days of school left! 2. We find out tomorrow if the Princess is going to the new school we applied to or if she is being wait-listed.  3. I really need to lose weight! 4. I need to pay my car payment, but the online system is down.  Of course….  or…. it could be user error.  Who knows?  5. My brother graduates next week from college! 6. Mother’s Day is Sunday! 7. My daddy’s birthday is Sunday! 8. My niece is singing the National Anthem (with a school group) next Saturday for the local pro baseball team’s game!  (Gotta get tickets to that!) 9. My foot still hurts from the 5K! 10. I have so much on my mind, but nothing really to write today!

Softball started today!  (If you couldn’t figure it out, the Princess is playing for the TARHEELS!)  We are UNC fans anyways; so this just made it BETTER!!!   We had to pick up uniforms before the game.  Her pants didn’t fit.  Had to get the right ones.  Other kids’ didn’t have pants that fit.   CHAOS!!   Then we had TWO games.  Double-header!  We will have that every 3 weeks.  There are only 3 teams in the age division.  Tarheels.    Pirates (ECU).  Nationals (Washington).   We won the first game, but some of the girls (5 of the 9 there today) have never played before!  They were TIRED!  We lost the second game.    Some of the umps calls were HORRIBLE!  For example, he called a pitch a ball, but the batter swung at it.  (Anyone explain that to me!?)  No…. he couldn’t explain it either!    For now, I’m sporting my farmer’s tan sunburn and racco...

I’m not sure it’s Spring outside today.    Right now, I can hear the sleet hitting my windows.    Earlier this week, it was 70 degrees.  Next week, it’s supposed to be 80 degrees.  I guess the sleet and cold temps just came to say good-bye.        I love the cold weather!  This year, I guess since I’m getting older, the cold has been harder on my body.  I have had a harder time getting warm than normal.  But, I still prefer cold weather to hot. My philosophy: You can add more layers than you can take off.  After a while, someone will call the cops if you take off too much!   Today I have two sleeping 9 year-olds in the next room.  When they get up, they are going to play and play and probably play some more!    Tonight, we have uniform pick up for softball.   Tomorrow we have practice.   Saturday we have our first two games!  (We have the double header thi...

Today, I got up at 8am.  I have been searching online for houses for a friend.  She and her family are looking to move and I was helping search.  I found a few and sent them to her.  Hopefully, she will find something.     I am in the middle of planning the Daddy-Daughter dance for Girl Scouts.  It is going to be a Luau this year!  At this moment, I have no one to help me.  But…. it will all work out.     Yesterday, the Princess and I worked on her bedroom.  Then we worked on the playroom.  My parents came over and Mom helped in the playroom.  Today, we have to finish her room so that my niece can come stay tonight.  (She and the Princess have been plotting this for WEEKS now!)    Today, I have some errands to run. We are working on the bedroom.  Then I might take a nap.  It IS Spring Break after all!

Yesterday, I ended up getting up WAY TOO EARLY.  However, I did go back to bed for a little bit.  My Princess woke up at 11am yesterday!     Today, I slept until 7am!  I was hoping for 8 or 8:30 every day!  But, 7 is an extra 3 hours.  This summer, I will get more sleep.  I just have to get used to sleeping through Tony’s alarm.  (I can’t do that in a week because I will sleep through my alarm on Monday, if I do!)   The Princess is still asleep this morning.  When she gets up, we are going to eat breakfast (or lunch-fast, if it’s 11am again!)!!  Then we are going to work on her room.  Since we moved, we have not finished organizing stuff.  Plus, she has lots of clothes that are getting too small that I need to get out of the drawers.    Added motivation: If she cleans her room, her cousin can come stay over either tonight or tomorrow night!   (She might actually get some work done with that ...

Tomorrow is my niece's 9th birthday!  The coolest thing about that is that she is #5 of 5 kids in her family!  My daughter was born in August 2003.  My niece was born in Jan. 2004.  Why is that so cool? My sis-in-law and I were pregnant at the same time.  However, because she had already had 4 kids, she knew how to "hide" hers.  She waited until after my daughter was born to tell the family.  (I think she waited until like October to tell us!) She wanted me to have all the fun (and perks) of a first pregnancy without taking any of it away from me.  Wasn't that awesome of her? Now, my daughter and my niece are best friends.  Unfortunately because of how their birthdays fall, they are in different grades.  Mine=4th; Niece=3rd.  But.... they do get to play on teams together in the softball league.  We try really hard to keep them on teams together so that they don't have to play against one another.  Since her bir...
