Still Recovering

I still can not sit up without having a headache.  After spending Tuesday to Thursday in the hospital, I ended up back in the ER on Friday night. (I didn't get home from there until about 4am Saturday!) I woke up feeling much better, but then after spending a couple hours at the church doing a yard sale and hot dog sale, Tony had to bring me back home. I got really ill again. Sunday, I went to church but I should have stayed at home. :( I got really sick again. Today, I have been in the bed all day. (I'm getting a little sore from being in the bed all the time!) But, the doctor called in a new medicine for me. Hopefully after a couple doses of it, I will be able to tell a difference.  For now, I rest a lot and pray and hope that the headache goes away so I can get back to life as I know it..... you know... normal (or whatever that is!)!!

Rough Week

I don't know that I would say that this was the worst week of my life, but it does rank very high in the top bad weeks.  As I'm typing this, I'm actually in my bed. It hurts to get out of bed. Actually, I just got out of the hospital yesterday. On Sunday, I got really ill after church. My head was hurting and I felt like I was going to throw up. (Yep! I know..TMI!!) We went with my parents to Mooresville, and I did get sick...... 4 times on the way home.  The trip is only about 25 minutes if you don't have to stop. Monday, I tried to drive to the doctor's office, but I had to stop too many times because of being dizzy and sick that I turned around and came back home. Tony came home from work and took me to the doctor. They gave me a shot for pain and a shot for nausea. The nausea shot worked and I kept down a little food.  Then Tuesday arrived.....  I couldn't even sit up in the bed without getting sick. Mom, Dad, and the Princess took me to the hospital--...

Homecoming!!

After 7 days..... 168 hours.... 10080 minutes..... 604800 seconds..... DADDY IS COMING HOME! Thursday he was in Intermediate care for the night. Friday he was moved to a post-surgical room, but he wasn't eating much. Saturday he ran a fever most of the day. Sunday he waited on the docs to send him home, but he had not been up and around much. AND... he still wasn't eating much. Monday he was very sick, throwing up, all day. Tuesday he didn't throw up, but he still wasn't eating much. So they kept him again last night. Wednesday--TODAY--he has been talking all day. He has eaten more today than he did the other 6 days he was there. He has been up and walking a few times already. AND...the doctor came in and said... "(DADDY) you can sleep at home tonight!" (Nope...Doc didn't call him Daddy, but *I* did!) Can I get a PRAISE THE LORD? I believe in prayer! Prayer works! Daddy is coming home tonight!

Showing Some Improvement

Dad is showing some signs of improvement. He was moved from an Intermediate room to a room in Post-Surgical care. That means that Chasity and all the other grandkids can visit Dad. I spent most of the day yesterday with him....until they moved him. Then I went back last night and spent a little while longer and took Chasity and Tony to see him too. Then today, I went and spent a few hours up there. I have to go up there to allow my mom to have time to go home, take a shower, run errands, and see her mom! However today, she couldn't get Grandma's clothes to dry, so I had her bring them here to the house to Tony. He dried them. Then he and Chasity came to pick me up. We went to visit my Grandma for a few minutes before we went to grab something to eat. We ended the night by grocery shopping! :) Now, I'm working on the music for church tomorrow. Dad was going to help me. However, he is in a good bit of pain. When he takes his pain meds, he falls asleep. :( So we di...

Stupid Hospital Rules

I have been at the hospital all day. I got there just before 7am this morning! Around 9am they came in and said that dad was doing great and the docs were still working on him. Around 11:15am the doc came out to talk to us. The surgery was over. Dad was in recovery. Doc said that he had about an hour or two and then he would be moved to the Post Surgical care. Dad has sleep apnea. DUH! We knew that! He's had the machine for a year or so now. So because of his sleep apnea, they decided to take Dad to Intermediate care. That's a step down unit from ICU. Why does this make me upset? Chasity can't go in there to see him! Which means that neither can I! I am so heartbroken right now. I left the hospital at 2pm to get Chasity from school. I had all intentions of picking Chasity up and then heading back to the hospital to see Dad. Since Chasity can't go in, I have to wait until after I am finished with Girl Scouts at 8pm tonight to go up there. I know that Dad underst...

Bad News

Why is it that when people give you bad news they say ,"You might want to sit down"? Is that so that you won't get up and run away? :) Well, I know I've been MIA for about a week now. However, I will probably be MIA a little longer. Yesterday, I found out that my Grandmother is going to be put on "Comfort Care". The doctor said once they do that, she'll probably have about a week before she's gone. I'll hopefully tell more about my Grandmother later. For today, just keep my family in your prayers/thoughts. I'd appreciate it. Until next time........

This Past Week...

...of my life has been the most stressful, sleep-deprived, teary-eyed week I have ever had. However, it was also the most blessed and miracle-filled. In my most recent post, I told about my dad having a car accident two weeks ago. This past Wednesday, we found out there was a little more to the story. Dad felt up to going to church on Wednesday night. When he got home, he ate supper and watched "Georgia Rule" on TV. When the movie went off at 11pm, he got ready to get up and passed out in his chair....literally. His eyes rolled back in his head. He started sweating so much it looked like he had just gotten out of the swimming pool....fully dressed. He was unresponsive. Mom called 911. Then she called me. I live literally around the corner. I had to wait on the firetruck to pass my house so I could pull out of the driveway. Then I had to wait for the EMT to turn so that I could turn on Mom's street. They pulled in front of the driveway. I pulled into the fron...

Falling off the face of the earth

Well.... I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, but it sure feels like it. Since last Tuesday, I have FINALLY been placed for my observations for this semester. It's kind of far, but....that means I won't have to go there for my Student Teaching next semester. I should be closer to home for that! lol I have completed a good bit of homework and paperwork. However, there is still a mountain of paperwork to do. Right now though, I am a week ahead (and plan to stay that way) in homework. I just have to finish the reading for the week. :) I have had a VERY successful Girl Scout meeting! I even helped another troop with their meeting. I also helped our Service Unit manager to do a new leader meeting last night. It was fun! :) I have done some GS training! I went Thursday morning with my new assistant leader to the Leader 101 training. It is somewhat different than the training I did just one year ago! I have been scared out of my wits by my dad's accident. On Th...
