Thanksgiving Recap

Image
I’m a little behind on here posting my “Thankfuls”.  I have them all on Facebook though.    Yesterday, we went to Mom and Dad’s house around noon. We were supposed to eat at 1pm, but someone ALWAYS has to be late! lol  This year it was my sister.   We had about 20 people at the house.  It was crazy.  After lunch, the guys all crowded into the living room to watch football!      My sister-in-law took a nap. My sister laid down with her two babies (foster daughters) to get them to sleep.  Mom and I worked on sewing things that the Girl Scouts are going to sell next weekend.    Then…once everyone finally woke up, we finished discussions for Mom and Dad’s anniversary party. The party is tomorrow. I’m just hoping I can get everything I need done by then so that I can get some sleep!  I need REST!  But….  I’m thinking I won’t get any of that until January!

Easter 2013

This   morning, the alarm went off at 4am.  We all (except maybe the Princess) were up and trying to get ready for Easter SONrise Service at church.  It started at 6am.   Afterwards, we had breakfast with everyone at church.   We came home for a nap and to change into our church clothes.  (We wear jeans and sneakers to SONrise Service!)   After regular service, we went out to eat with the family, as usual.  There was also a new friend with us!   Then we came home to rest.  We were supposed to work on the house.  However, we all crashed (except for the Princess!)!!  I think she might be wide awake because she slept through SONrise service…only waking in time to eat breakfast.  Then she slept through the regular service—waking up only in time to eat lunch!    That’s the Princess!    HAPPY EASTER!

Frenemies

Don't you just love it when you go see a group of people you haven't seen in forever and almost NO ONE speaks to you.  Last night we had a Girl Scout event at the local YMCA.  The girls all said, "Hi"!  But... most of the leaders just walked by and acted like I wasn't sitting there. My dad, hubby, and bro-in law had taken Dad's sound equipment and set it up so I could DJ the event.  Good thing.  Nothing went wrong with music/sound.  Bad thing... no one even said thank you for coming.  :( I used to be like that.  Now, I'm not like that.  I try to acknowledge people when I see them.  I try to thank them for going out of their way. I used to be a Frenemy, but now....  I try to be a friend.

On the 8th Day of Christmas...

…my true love gave to me…my 8 favorite people to see. 1. My parents 2. My siblings 3. All 5 of my brother’s kids 4. Himself 5. Our Daughter, Chasity 6. My Grandmother and Papaw Paul 7. My Grandma Edwards 8. Our Pastor and his wife So…that’s a “few” more than 8 people. I couldn’t stop at only 8, so I had to group them together! Who are YOUR favorite people to see during the holidays? Until next time……..

July 4th....Remembered...

Thursday night, we went to downtown Kannapolis for fireworks. They were awesome. I got some pretty good shots to put into Chasity's scrapbook (for her 5th year--lol)! It was fabulous! Then Friday night we went to my sister's house for a cook-out. The 3 of us were there. Lisa, Joe, Toby, and "Devo" (the dog and a munchkin she was babysitting) were there. The preacher, Sis. Hayes, Michaela, Graciey, Mom, Dad, Victoria, and Trevor were all there. Chasity and the girls got in her little swimming pool and played in the sprinkler. We had hamburgers and hot dogs. I didn't really have a good attitude, so we left about 9:30...right after we finished eating! :( I should have had a better attitude, but we did still have fun! Then last night, we went to see more fireworks in Harrisburg. It was really cool. We got there a little later than we normally do so there weren't any good spots to park. Well...we found a spot and walked to a grassy area with our fold-...

Update....

Wow! I haven't updated about my weight loss in a while. This is probably because I haven't really been doing anything. I have gained a pound and lost 2. I have gained a partial pound and lost the same the next week. BUT... today when I weighed in, I have lost 3 more pounds. Last week I only lost like .6 lbs. So.... I think I'm doing OK. I really need to be more cautious with my food... but... I haven't been. I know that! Grandma? Well... she's in the nursing home. We have fewer than 20 days to decide (family and doctors) if she will stay there or go back to the assisted living facility. I'm pretty sure we are going to move her back, but my mom and her siblings have to decide. Speaking of my mom's siblings, my Aunt JoAnn is very sick. She's had cancer for awhile! However, we were told yesterday that she may not make it to next weekend. When she goes, I know she will be better off. Right now, she's in a lot of pain and doesn't reall...

I have Dance pics! I also have pics of my unicorns to put up...I have someone interested in giving them a home!! (Plus... i"m going to try to get some of my S&P Shakers on here so I can show off some of my favorites!) This also means that you should look for my stuff on eBay soon! Finished....with a 4.0!

So.... all of my classes are finished for the semester! I'm so glad! I don't know what happened to me this semester! However... I did manage to pull all A's out of my classes again! So for all my Graduate work, I have a 4.0 GPA! For all my Undergraduate work (that counts towards my Graduate degree) I have a 3.70 GPA. I still have 2 classes that I have to factor into the Undergraduate classes...they are being transferred into UNCC from RCCC. Next semester, which starts Aug. 17th, is WAY tooooo closs, but I only I ONE class. So I should be able to stay on top of that class better than I did with 3 this semester! I am praying for a job....so if you want to pray with me.... I really need a job teaching High School English.... I need to start in August! :) I have enjoyed this year being about to go to Chasity's school when I wanted to, but I really need a job to finish out my Phase I coursework! So....let's all pray that I get one! Chasity only has a couple mor...

Things to Do....and Finding a Home for Unicorns

Y es! I have stuff to do. I have more stuff than I know HOW to do! Let's see... this should be a pretty busy weekend. 1. Get yard sale stuff together. I have some stuff that I need to go through so that I can get rid of some stuff and take it to the Yard Sale tomorrow. YES tomorrow! I know, I know... I should wait until like 2am to get the stuff together! 2. Homework! I have three stories to read that I have to write something about tomorrow...by midnight. So, I'll read AFTER I get yard sale stuff together. And...I'll read at the yard sale! Then I have TWO books to read before May 6th because I have a final that night and the two books that I haven't read yet WILL be on it! :) I have SIX two page papers to write... I just haven't figured out what I am going to write, so I'm having issues writing! I think that's it for this weekend! 3. YARD SALE! I have the yard sale tomorrow morning! I go at 6am...it starts at 7am! 4. Ball game! Chasity ha...

Live from....

....somewhere in the public library. Today's post comes to you from the belly of the Kannapolis branch of Cannon Memorial Library. Yes, I'm a nerd writing a blog from inside the library! Who cares!?!?! A couple of days ago Tony's computer started doing the blue screen thing again. Then yesterday (around noon) the screen went completely out on my computer again! I've already had to have it fixed once, so now I'm having to send it off again. Unfortunately, the computer fixer people are going to completely replace my motherboard. (That sounds so weird to me! lol) Anyways, I'm going to have to get my WONDERFUL brother-in-law to get all my information off my computer for me. Then I can send it off. My WONDERFUL sister (yes, I only have one of those) is going to let me use her laptop for the two weeks that it takes to get my computer fixed. She did the same thing for me last time too. She's so wonderful that I didn't even have to ask her this time. ...
