Writing Challenge--Day #2

Today is Day #2 of my writing challenge. If you missed Day #1, check it out here . Join in; it's never too late to start writing. Yesterday's challenge about songs did not require a lot of thought on my part.  I have music around me all the time. I have been listening to music since before I was born. I have been singing since "before I could talk," if you would have asked my Grandmother before she passed. Today's Challenge: "If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?" In order to answer this, I am going to say that I don't have ONE single person I want to meet. I have a lot of people I want to meet. I have a lot of questions I'd love to ask everyone of them. However, I have a group of people, however silly it may sound, that I would love to meet at some point. Let me preface this by saying that I have watched wrestling on TV since, well, since as long as I can remember. I recall times sitting on the floor at my great-grand...

Yesterday and Today

Yesterday was the 11th anniversary of my mother-in-law passing.    Yesterday was the day that my pastor’s father passed.  (My pastor is my dad’s best friend.)   Yesterday was the day that the part of my history was burned to the ground (on purpose) by the city!    Today is the day that I means I only have 20 days of school left.   Today is the day I have a Girl Scout ceremony to celebrate girls who have worked hard this year!   Today is the day the Princess has softball practice!   Today is the day that I will see the remaining evidence of the part of my history that was burned.  (I promise to tell this later!)   Today is the day that I will have a much better day than I did yesterday (at least emotionally!!!)!!!!!!

Finding Lost People

Last night, I went on Ancestry.com.  I’m in love!  I am trying to see how far back I can get my family tree.  I’m sure eventually The Princess is going to need this information. Although, I’m sure I needed it well before 5th grade!   I do have ONE person I can’t seem to match up on there though.  I can’t figure out if they are alive or dead.  I’ve never met them, but because of their relationship to me (which will remain unknown) I have access to some of their records (i.e. marriage certificate, draft card, social security number).    With the information I have, is there anywhere to look (for free) to find out if someone is dead or alive?  HELP!   On a different note, or at least person, I found my Great-Grandfather’s draft card online!  It was amazing!  He has been dead since 1988.  I haven’t seen his handwriting since then!  But, as soon as I saw it, I knew it was his writing!    Yes, I ...

July 4th....Remembered...

Thursday night, we went to downtown Kannapolis for fireworks. They were awesome. I got some pretty good shots to put into Chasity's scrapbook (for her 5th year--lol)! It was fabulous! Then Friday night we went to my sister's house for a cook-out. The 3 of us were there. Lisa, Joe, Toby, and "Devo" (the dog and a munchkin she was babysitting) were there. The preacher, Sis. Hayes, Michaela, Graciey, Mom, Dad, Victoria, and Trevor were all there. Chasity and the girls got in her little swimming pool and played in the sprinkler. We had hamburgers and hot dogs. I didn't really have a good attitude, so we left about 9:30...right after we finished eating! :( I should have had a better attitude, but we did still have fun! Then last night, we went to see more fireworks in Harrisburg. It was really cool. We got there a little later than we normally do so there weren't any good spots to park. Well...we found a spot and walked to a grassy area with our fold-...
