Ok so this is going to be a really long post.... I'll try to label things to make it easier to follow. Papaw's Surgery: Right after my grandmother died, we found out that my dad's dad (Papaw) had cancer in his bladder. He had been so busy taking care of Grandmother that he only took care of "immediate" things for himself. He had two surgeries to remove cancer, but they did not get it all either time. Then we learned that the cancer had spread to his prostate also. So on August 12th, Papaw had surgery to remove his bladder and his prostate. He now has a bag attached that acts as his bladder. He has been recovering very well! Praise the Lord! He spent a couple of weeks with my parents. Yesterday, he decided it was time to "move back home". :) So after the home nurse visited yesterday (they come 2-3 times a week still) my mom took him home. :) I'm gonna miss having his so close to us, but it's only about 10 minutes away now. :) School: Scho...

As you know, I am going to be doing my student teaching this fall. I am going to be at a local high school working with a teacher who has been teaching for a while! I think that will be good for me! :) Anyways, tonight, I am going to attend the mandatory Orientation! It's going to be the same thing I went through last semester, so this time I am not freaking out. :) I got an email last night from my University Supervisor (US) he/she (there were only initials for a first name, so I don't know if he/she is male or female...yet!) is going to meet with us after the Orientation tonight. That means I should get a copy of my class schedule for the semester! I can hope it's not EVERY week, but if it is.... I will be there! :) For the rest of today, I'm going to be running around getting stuff set up for the new house. I'm also going to be going to visit my Grandfather at the hospital (more on that later)! Until next time........

Earlier this year, my dad's dad--Papaw Paul--had to have surgery. They removed a tumor that covered 1/3 of his bladder. Just a couple weeks ago, he had to go back in for more surgery. This time, the tumor was there again but, it wasn't as bad. On Friday, he had to go in for a FULL DAY of tests. It was an ALL DAY CT Scan. They had to pump him full of fluids and then drain them. It sounded waaaaaayyy too complicated for me! He got through that wonderfully. Today, he had to go back for the follow-up to get results. My parents are his "power of attorney". So, any time they talk to Papaw at the doctor's office, Papaw has them call my mom to tell her. Dad drives a truck--home nightly--but you don't want to tell someone what the doc said while they are driving an 18-wheeler down the interstate! Right? ...my true love gave to me...four wishes granted completely. 1. My dad's complete recovery (He's getting better! He even drove for the first time last night!) 2. A Full time job for me (teaching high school English--I wished this once and did NOT get the job I wanted! lol) 3. A family that's healthy. (It seems we're trying to see who all can get sick before Christmas!) 4. "World Peace"....It's CHRISTMAS after all, so I had to ask for that...right? :) As you know, my daddy had a wreck in October. Then a week later had to have emergency surgery to remove his spleen--because it was injured in the wreck. Because of this, and the trauma that your brain goes through in a wreck anyways, he hasn't driven since the wreck. Yesterday afternoon, he drove for the first time in a couple of months! I almost cried! :) I have received placement for my Student Teaching beginning in January. Once that is complete, I will be able to apply for my NC Teaching Licen...

It's really fun! :) NOTE: My Grandfather (Paul) is having surgery tomorrow. Please keep him in your prayers. They found a tumor on his bladder and they are going to try to get it tomorrow. He's in his early 70's. We are praying that they find nothing when they go in....or at least get it all with one surgery. We know and believe in the Great Physician.
