As I write that, I am fearful of what October will bring! In 2008, Dad had a wreck and we almost lost him. In 2012, Dad had an infection in his leg and we almost lost him. Could we just skip to November or stay in September (but still move to cooler weather) this year?   October is also my Blog-a-versary month. My first post was Oct. 25, 2008! That’s FIVE years! WOW!   I am excited for cooler weather. Girl Scouts. Fall Festivals. Halloween. Just about anything that has to do with FALL! I love it!   What’s your favorite season? Why?

Yesterday was ONE YEAR! One year ago yesterday, we got a phone call that turned out to be the call that changed our lives! A year ago yesterday, my mom got the call from the hospital to say that my dad had been in a wreck! Then mom called me. Then we ALL (my hubby, mom, sis, brother, pastor, pastor's wife) all descended on the hospital waiting room. Dad seemed fine. However....after a week at home, we found out differently! OMG! This coming Thursday will be a year since the day that we almost lost dad! I'll have to work on a post for my real feelings about that day. It's hard not to cry when I think about it still! But for now...... I'm still rejoicing that dad is still here! Until next time........

What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? I let Chasity stay with someone other than a family member. 2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for 2010? The one I am MOST disappointed that I did not keep was to read the Bible all the way through. However, I have a plan to do that THIS year (2010)!!! I DID however lose weight. That's something I say I'm going to do every year. BUT... in 2009, I lost a little over 60 lbs. I have managed to keep MOST of it off too! So, I will continue to lose weight in 2010. Somehow, I plan to hit that 100 lbs. lost mark! 3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes....Tony's neice, Amber, had Lenna-Grace. 4. Did anyone close to you die? Yes...my Aunt JoAnn died in July. Just before Christmas, a close family friend passe...

...my true love gave to me...four wishes granted completely. 1. My dad's complete recovery (He's getting better! He even drove for the first time last night!) 2. A Full time job for me (teaching high school English--I wished this once and did NOT get the job I wanted! lol) 3. A family that's healthy. (It seems we're trying to see who all can get sick before Christmas!) 4. "World Peace"....It's CHRISTMAS after all, so I had to ask for that...right? :) As you know, my daddy had a wreck in October. Then a week later had to have emergency surgery to remove his spleen--because it was injured in the wreck. Because of this, and the trauma that your brain goes through in a wreck anyways, he hasn't driven since the wreck. Yesterday afternoon, he drove for the first time in a couple of months! I almost cried! :) I have received placement for my Student Teaching beginning in January. Once that is complete, I will be able to apply for my NC Teaching Licen...

You'd never know by the amount of posts that I have put up lately (haha!) that I have been swamped! I love school. That's probably why after I had a 5 year break, I went back. I love English! Again...that's probably why I'm working on getting my license to teach High School English! I LOVE IT! However, I don't love paperwork. Ok...I'm lying. I do love it! I have had so much of it lately that I'm not really enthused about it right now. Anyways, I'm starting to be able to see the bottom of the pile on my desk. So...I should get back to normal (however I define that) soon. School is almost over for the semester. I have completed my observations. All I have left are 3 big assignments. Two of which I need to be working on now, but I'd rather blog. lol Last week, I even wrote out a blog to post, while I was observing in Mount Pleasant. However, I never got around to it, and now....well... it's old news.....even to me! :) Right now, there are just a few...

...of my life has been the most stressful, sleep-deprived, teary-eyed week I have ever had. However, it was also the most blessed and miracle-filled. In my most recent post, I told about my dad having a car accident two weeks ago. This past Wednesday, we found out there was a little more to the story. Dad felt up to going to church on Wednesday night. When he got home, he ate supper and watched "Georgia Rule" on TV. When the movie went off at 11pm, he got ready to get up and passed out in his chair....literally. His eyes rolled back in his head. He started sweating so much it looked like he had just gotten out of the swimming pool....fully dressed. He was unresponsive. Mom called 911. Then she called me. I live literally around the corner. I had to wait on the firetruck to pass my house so I could pull out of the driveway. Then I had to wait for the EMT to turn so that I could turn on Mom's street. They pulled in front of the driveway. I pulled into the fron...

Well.... I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, but it sure feels like it. Since last Tuesday, I have FINALLY been placed for my observations for this semester. It's kind of far, but....that means I won't have to go there for my Student Teaching next semester. I should be closer to home for that! lol I have completed a good bit of homework and paperwork. However, there is still a mountain of paperwork to do. Right now though, I am a week ahead (and plan to stay that way) in homework. I just have to finish the reading for the week. :) I have had a VERY successful Girl Scout meeting! I even helped another troop with their meeting. I also helped our Service Unit manager to do a new leader meeting last night. It was fun! :) I have done some GS training! I went Thursday morning with my new assistant leader to the Leader 101 training. It is somewhat different than the training I did just one year ago! I have been scared out of my wits by my dad's accident. On Th...
