Today is one of those days where I have a lot on my mind, but nothing really to say.   1. Only 23 days of school left! 2. We find out tomorrow if the Princess is going to the new school we applied to or if she is being wait-listed.  3. I really need to lose weight! 4. I need to pay my car payment, but the online system is down.  Of course….  or…. it could be user error.  Who knows?  5. My brother graduates next week from college! 6. Mother’s Day is Sunday! 7. My daddy’s birthday is Sunday! 8. My niece is singing the National Anthem (with a school group) next Saturday for the local pro baseball team’s game!  (Gotta get tickets to that!) 9. My foot still hurts from the 5K! 10. I have so much on my mind, but nothing really to write today!

Worse…Before Better

Image
Ever heard the saying “It has to get worse before it will get better”??   Well, that’s how I feel about my body right now.  I feel like the pain, soreness, stiffness are all getting worse.  I can only hope that this week, the pain, soreness, and stiffness will start going away!   My ankles are still swollen.  I’m not sure how I’m going to get my boots on to wear to work today!  But… I will.   I just wish I could take the cold.  I would totally submerge myself in an ice bath—like the athletes in the movies do!     For today, I’m just looking at the positive!  Only 24 more days until Summer break!

Surviving the 5K

Image
So….since you are reading this, you know I survived! I thought I might die! But…alas…I didn’t! However, I’m pretty sure my body hates me!  AND…if I never have to do a 5K again…well, it will be TOO soon!   Times: Tony and the Princess—1 hour 6 minutes and some seconds Me—1 hour 14 minutes and 58 seconds!  Less than 1 hour 15 minutes! AND… I did NOT finish last!   (That was my goal… not to finish last!)   So… my feet, legs, arms, shoulders, and fingers hurt, but we lived through it.    After the 5K, the Princess played softball and hit a ball over the 3rd baseman’s head into the outfield!    (Should have been a double, but I think she was a little tired of running!  LOL)  Her team won!  GO TARHEELS!

Today is the Day

Image
In just a few minutes, we are leaving to head to the Girls on the Run 5K!  Tony and I are walking in it with the Princess!     Tomorrow, I should have pics of her at the race and with her medal!    I’m afraid for how my legs are going to feel after this.  I might not be able to walk.   However, a 5K has always been on my bucket list.  I just was hoping to be in shape and not afraid of dying from doing it!

Another Packed Weekend

Image
So tonight we have softball pictures and practice if there is time (and an open field)! Then I’m going to join the Scrap Happy Divas for some late night scrapbooking!   It’s our NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY celebration….24 hours of cropping, scrapping, and talking!  (I won’t get to be there the whole 24 hours though. )   Tomorrow morning, we have the Girls on the Run 5K.  We have to be there at 7:30am!  SO glad Tony will be driving!   Our softball game is at 2:15pm.  Then my nephew plays at 4pm.  We will stay to watch him, I’m sure!  I owe him some pizza.  (I’ll tell that story soon!)   Today is Friday.  We only have 25 days left of school!  I’m getting excited, but still worried that I won’t get it all in!     This is going to be another of those BLUR weekends!

Monday….Again! Plan for this week!

Image
After this weekend, I can’t even ask “How did Monday get here!?!”   It really was a BLUR!  I hope we don’t have many more like that coming up!   This week is going to be interesting. 1. I have to go today to get the tag for my car.  We finally got it fixed and inspected.  I can get the tag now.  Actually…it’s a stupid little sticker for the tag! 2. I have to work the gate for the softball and baseball games at work tomorrow.  So I will get the Princess from Girls on the Run and then run back to school to work the gate until about 8pm.  Luckily the Princess will be with me and can get her homework done there. 3. I have to go get the ACTUAL tag for the new van.  They sent a letter and called to say that it is in.    4. We have softball practice on Friday.  Then we have a game on Saturday.  However, after that, we don’t have any plans this week.   I might go watch my nephews play this week!   Thi...

Bring a Friend Night

A couple of weeks ago, we had the girls make invitations to take to school.  Each girl got like 8-9 invites.  They were to invite friends from school to come to Girl Scouts tonight!  We are having an ICE CREAM PARTY tonight.  We will do a couple of games too! I'm hoping that by having the girls bring their friends, the friends will be interested in becoming Girl Scouts for next year!  Wouldn't THAT be cool?  It worked a couple of years ago, so we will see. After work today, I have to get the Princess from Girls on the Run, get the ice cream and toppings, and get to the fellowship hall to get everything set up! I'm interested to see how many friends come tonight! :)

Overscheduling and Procrastinating

Why do I pack more in a day than I know I will ever get finished?  I have to be at 3 places at the same time today.  Unfortunately, for me, (fortunately for everyone else) there is only ONE me.  So I am going to have to FLY (I need wings) from place to place. Luckily the three places are not very far apart.  I just wish that I would convince myself that it is OKAY to wait on things.  Wait!  I am the master procrastinator.  So I should have this down....right? One of my students asked me yesterday if  I am a procrastinator.  I said, "Yep!"  He said, "How do you get everything done if you keep putting it off?"  I said, "I just put off dying until I can accomplish everything!"  (The entire class of Freshmen laughed!  I love when I can get them ALL to laugh about something!) I don't think I can procrastinate any of the things today.  So, I will just try to be in 3 places at one time and see how it works.

GOTR and Feeling Icky

Recently, like last week, our Princess began the Girls on the Run Program at her school.  Two days a week, they prepare for a 5K.  The 5K will be held in May. The program also teaches the girls about respecting themselves, being healthy, and using teamwork.  They meet right after school, twice a week, for an hour.  I'm guessing today is not going to be the best ever for the Princess.  Last night, she was coughing really badly.  It sounded horrible.  She was having a hard time breathing.  She had a really bad headache.  I can hope that after a little sleep last night she is "all better".  However, I went in to listen to her this morning already.  She is still having trouble breathing.  She sounds all raspy when she breathes.  :( My Princess doesn't feel well.  I hate when she's sick.
