The Presidential Debate

Last night, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton had their final debate before the election in a couple of weeks. I did NOT watch it. I did NOT watch the first two either. I haven't watched any of the debates for any office this year. Typically, I watch at least one, but this year, I haven't. I did, however, watch stuff on my DVR because my shows that are on, typically, on Wednesday nights were not on. :(  There were no new episodes of my Wednesday night shows--because of the debate. I was not impressed with that--but, I know that there are a lot of people (millions, in fact) who watched, Tweeted, Instagrammed, and Facebooked the ENTIRE thing!!  I still have thoughts about all the different people running for different offices.  I'm trying really hard to convince myself to write my thoughts out about that. For today, I have to reconcile myself to the fact that I have nothing to watch on my DVR from last night because The Donald vs. Hillary was on for the final time...

What I'm Watching

I know I've talked about my love of CSI (all branches of it), Criminal Minds, and, newly founded,  NCIS! However, those are not the ONLY things we watch in our family. We have a very specific DVR schedule. Mondays: Supergirl WWE Monday Night RAW Scorpion Tuesdays: WWE SmackDown! Chrisley Knows Best The Flash Wednesdays: Arrow Thursdays: Project Runway Fridays: Last Man Standing Bunk'd Saturdays: Hallmark Movie of the Week (especially this time of year--Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas Movies) Sundays: The Walking Dead Obviously, some of those are not mine, but we are a very diverse TV watching family. On Sundays, we watch NFL football--Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, and Carolina Panthers. Two Sundays a month, we meet as a family at my parents' house to watch the pay-per-view for WWE.  (It's a family thing.  I grew up watching wrestling with my Great Grandfather.) Of course, we love watching things, like Reba, that aren't on o

My Baby is Growing Up

I've known for a long time (you know, forever) that my daughter wouldn't stay little forever. In fact, she's 13 now! It's crazy! She's in 8th grade. She's so smart. She's so pretty. She's becoming so independent. She's taking high school classes, while still in middle school. In short, she's growing up too fast, and she's AMAZING!! Last night, however, she proved that she's even more amazing than I could have imagined. We went to the College Fair sponsored by the local school district. There were about 200 schools there. She grabbed this list/map and decided on the schools she wanted to visit. She already has a chosen major. She walked up to the reps and introduced herself and asked about the program she wants. After talking to the reps for a few minutes, they all offered for her to give information and "be sure you apply early." So, the Princess says, "How early can I apply? I'm in 8th grade." Out of the

Binge worthy

Today's post is a lot lighter than the past few I have written.  It's also going to be very short. I have found a new show that I am currently binge watching on Netflix. I love shows like CSI, CSI: New York, CSI: Miami, an Criminal Minds. I have watched all of CSI: New York and Criminal Minds on Netflix. It didn't take long.... because I LOVE those two shows. The other day, I was flipping through the guide and landed on NCIS. I watched about 20 minutes and decided I needed to see ALL of them.  I am currently 19 episodes into Season 1. I love it.  There are 13 seasons, not including the current season.  I'm guessing I'll have to catch it when it goes on Netflix also.  I want to get the full story for the characters before I watch the new ones.  That's just my thoughts for the day.  In other news: 1--I have a Presidential post in my head.  It WILL come out, just not sure when. :) 2--I have a book idea in my head. I've started hand-writing it. May

More Knee Stuff

Yesterday, we had another appointment with the Sports Medicine doctor. The Princess can now bend her knee.  However, she is not playing softball yet. It's ok. She wouldn't have time to do the workouts anyways. The last practice is today, and, unless they win, the last game will be tomorrow. We should be ranked next to last. That means we will be playing the 2nd place seeded team. As of right now, the 2nd place spot is held by a team that has walked on the our team twice already this year.... like 17-0 and 18-0 games that only went 3 innings. The Princess has 4-6 weeks of physical therapy. I have to get that scheduled. She has to go 2-3 times a week for 45 minutes to an hour each time. That's going to be a workout!! For now, we will keep the knee rested, therapied (is that a word?), and iced. Hopefully she can do winter workouts and get back to doing Karate!

(Almost) Dead Battery

Yesterday, the Princess had her last home game for middle school softball. Although she can't play, she's still attending every practice and game... just in case the doctor releases her on Monday, when she goes back in to visit. Yesterday, the 8th grade players were recognized. They were given a bouquet of yellow flowers wrapped in white paper with black and gold ribbon on it. (The school colors are Black and Gold!!!) WE BLEED BLACK AND GOLD!!! (It will be her high school colors also.) Anyways, after the game, our minivan didn't want to start. We went to Cici's Pizza with the family--13 of us (not even 1/2)!!! After dinner, the van didn't want to start again. So, we drove straight to the AutoZone. The guy there checked the battery. It was dying. Then he checked the computer to show that we had just put that battery in the van in March of 2014. That means that the warranty ran out in March 2016!!!!  GO FIGURE!  So.... just a few minutes later, the guy insta
