My Story

I want to tell my story.  I want to write it so that others can read it. I don't have a fabulous story... just some funny things along the way. I don't have a rags to riches story.  I'm not rich, and may never be.  I want to write my story. I just don't know how to start (other than the beginning) and what to put into it.  I don't know what I would really do with it if I wrote it. I don't know who would want to read it.  I need to find a way to tell my story so that others want to read it.  I am thinking maybe a multigenre story, but I haven't decided.  I think I am going to need time and help. I want to tell my story.

Interview Results

About two weeks ago, I interviewed for a teaching job. It is the only interview I have had all summer. I have sent in resume' after resume' to probably 50 principals this summer. There have been openings, but I never got an interview for most of the jobs. The job I interviewed for is about an hour drive to get there. However, in the mornings, I would be going away from the biggest part of traffic. In the afternoons, I would be doing the same thing. So the drive wouldn't be so bad! I wouldn't have that much traffic to deal with either direction! So for the past two weeks, I every time the phone has rung, I have been on edge hoping to hear from them. Today I heard from them. "We have filled the position at (the school). We wish you the best in your job search. Thanks for you interest in teaching at (the school)." However..... it was NOT a phone call. I received an email to tell me that I didn't get the job. :( That just made it even WORSE! So now.....

It Arrived Yesterday!

Tony had to work late, so I took Chasity to gymnastics alone yesterday. It's not a problem. All I do is sit and watch her anyways. However, he and I normally go together to watch her! She loves to be watched! :) Anyways, I was turning into the drive way and Tony was at the top of the hill checking the mail. We have one of those community mail boxes where there are several boxes together and we all have a key. I saw a large white envelope in his hand. I said, "Is that for me?" He said, "Leslie Jackson." I said, "Is it from the State of NC?" He said, "Maybe!" I shouted, "GIVE IT TO ME!" I opened (without much patience, but making sure not to tear the contents) the envelope. Sure enough.... on the inside was a letter of congratulations and my NC Standard Professional I teaching license! (I have to teach for 3 years and get good reviews from Principals and some other stuff to get the Professional II license!!) I'm so excite...
