Schooling Options

Monday evening, Tony, my mom, and I took the Princess to check out one of the local private schools.  It's the oldest in the city.  It's HUGE.  I remember watching it grow as some of my friends from church attended there growing up.  It's a church-based school that teaches Bible, but they also teach all the other stuff that kids need for college.  Note: Recently (the past 2 years, I think) they have had 2 students receive perfect scores on their SATs!!!  As a mom, I think that is huge.  As a teacher, I know how wonderful that is--very rare!  :)  We are looking into sending the Princess there for next year.  I'm hoping that we can work it out.  We are going to pray about it and do the paperwork for financial aid for it.  We shall see!  I'm just not happy with the educational situation she is in right now.  Without taking her to a school that she would only attend for ONE year, I can't move her next year in the pu...

School Selection Stuff

In the newspaper here on Friday my mom showed me an article about a new Christian Academy that is opening in August 2009. So I decided to check it out. I drove to the school today. (Yes, I know I had already called them to send me information, but I'm just too darn impatient to wait until I get it tomorrow!) I got down there and talked to the lady at the desk. She answered my questions and gave me some information. So I got in the car and started reading the information. I was really naive to think that this school would cost anything less than any other private school in the area. Mom, Tony, and I assumed (and we all know what that does) that it would be cheaper since it is NEW! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!! It only costs $50/month less than the school I would have put her in....if the price wasn't so high! Now... the problem with the cost is this. Tony and I need a second car...so he has transportation when he's not working! To work he can drive the company van, but...

Weight Update and Other Useless Tidbits of My Life

As of yesterday, I lost another 3 lbs. That puts be at 31 lbs lost in 7 weeks! I'm loving Weight Watchers! (I'm watching the weight go away!) lol I now weigh 285!!! Yesterday turned out really well. Chasity finally calmed down once we actually got to church. Then last night we had a blast at Crossover Kannapolis. I wish everyone could have been there! It was great! I'm still using Lisa's computer! She is so super nice...when she wants to be. :) This Friday, I'm going to be attending a job fair for teachers only. I'm really in need of a job. All of the local school districts will be there, so I will get to interview and talk to them then! (I need to go shopping again to get that outfit I really wanted when I went shopping last Thursday! lol It would be AWESOME for that job fair! Since I think I need to get other things done, I won't be going to the store again this week. I will have to find something else cute to wear to the job fair! :) I...
