Final Party Touches and Blown Mind

Image
Yesterday, on Black Friday, instead of Christmas shopping, Tony, the Princess, and I went to WalMart and Sam’s Club to get all the things we needed to get for the party today. We still had plates, forks, spoons, and all that to get. We also had to get all the food.  We knew we wouldn’t have room before yesterday to make a place in the refrigerator for it, so we had to wait until yesterday to get it.   We didn’t leave the house until about 4pm. So….all the crazy Black Friday shoppers were already at home, asleep!      We got into Sam’s Club, got all the stuff we needed, and checked out in less than 2 hours.  I was suspecting about 4.  Then we got in and out of WalMart in about an hour.  That’s a new record for us.    Today, all I have to go get are the balloons for décor. We aren’t doing much, but I would like to have some balloons to make the room more festive. So, I have to get those.    Today, we also have to...

Homecoming

Image
Once a year, most churches have Homecoming celebrations. I don’t know where the tradition started, but I have always been in churches that have them.   Today, the church that we recently left is having Homecoming. My parents still attend there, and Dad wants me to come help with the music. So, I’m going. The Princess and I are going. I’m not thrilled. I don’t really want to see everyone there again. There are a few people I could do without seeing again….ever. But, since Dad asked, I will be there.   After church, the Princess and I will be coming home to get a lot of work done. She has two projects for books that she completed last week.  She is on book 6 now for the school year. I am getting ready to start book 4 for myself.   I have plenty of stuff for the PTC from her school to take care of this afternoon.    We will be plenty busy. Not to mention….laundry, homework, and groceries.  All the while, Tony is working and we get to do it...

Headache, Backache, and Tired…OH MY!

Image
Yesterday was the BLUR! Finished burning CDs for the LUAU. Food shopping for the LUAU. Store the food in a cold place until the LUAU. Softball—we won!  By 1 point! Pick food up and get to Luau location. Decorate and cook (with the help of about 20 people who came!) LUAU! Tear down and clean up! (With the help of lovely people!)   The only problem with a day like that is that I am not supposed to stand up/be on my feet for more than about 15-30 minutes at time.  I went from 5pm-8pm without sitting.  I was running around.  Finally, I had to stop and ice down my back. This morning, my head was throbbing. My back hurt so much I could barely breathe. My feet were still swollen. I was just exhausted.   So….  we didn’t make it to church.  I got up.  Ate breakfast.  Sat on the couch for about an hour.  Came back upstairs and went to bed.  I finally got up at 4pm.  I think that going back to work...

Me--Honestly!

NOTE: I wrote this in my little 5x7 notebook that I keep in my purse on Sunday. Sometimes my temper gets the best of me. Okay! A lot of times! Sometimes it's because I really have something to be mad about. Sometimes it's because of stress. Sometimes it's because I let a million little things pile up on me. But, sometimes, it's really for no reason at all. Today, it was a combination of all of those. However, I really feel as though I handled myself well. First, I really don't feel well. Between what I'm figuring is my 2nd sinus infection in 2011--gotta love being allergic to everything--and what I think is an ear infection in my left ear, I feel lousy! I really feel like crap! I just want to sleep because that's the only time I don't feel the pressure in my head and ears. Secondly, Chasity decided to tell us today (Sunday) that another boy in her class is picking on her for being WHITE! Seriously! I call it bullying and I have a problem with her...

Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? If not, my plan is doomed! If so, I'm good to go! I have gone through all the sales papers for this week. I have circled thi...

Beach Vacation....Day 4

Whew! I can't believe our first family beach vacation is 1/2 over! This is crazy! So, what did we do on day 4? Well... day 4 did not go as planned, but it really did go well. We got up early enough and started to get ready to go to downtown Myrtle Beach. On the way, my sis-in-law Debbie called. She said they were at the Tanger Outlets . It's a really cool place with outlet stores and walkways....covered walkways. That way key in our decision to going to Tanger Outlets yesterday. When Debbie called, the bottom had just fallen out and it was storming. There was no way we were going to go downtown Myrtle Beach to walk around in the storm. So, we decided to go to Tanger Outlets. It was great. We got a couple outfits for Chasity. We also got a couple of things for Tony's new great-niece, Lenna-Grace. She was born in April (I think) and we had not gotten her anything yet. Because of the weather, we never actually made it to the beach or the pool yesterday. However,...

Beach Vacation....Day 3

So yesterday started well. I did my 1/4 mile walk. I showered and waited on the family to get ready to go. Unfortunately, my family was in SLOW MOTION so no one else was ready before 1pm. I wanted to go walk through the shops in downtown Myrtle Beach, but I was not going in the hottest part of the day. The temperature here has been 88 with about 95% humidity! OMG! That's too much for me! lol So, we sat around the house so long that I finally fell asleep. I took a TWO HOUR NAP! Can you believe that? I can't! I rarely do that! Anyways... when I got up, we started making plans to hang out with Tony's sister and her family. They wanted to go to a place called Captain George's to eat. I'm sure the food was good, but I didn't eat any. I know we are on vacation, but I did not see a need to pay $30 per person to eat a seafood buffet. It ws not worth it to me. So while everyone else ate, I talked to them. We ordered Chasity a cheeseburger with fries, a...

Playing Catch-up!

So I haven't written anything in a while. It's really ok though. I don't think I'll die if I don't write anything....but.....I didn't want to take the chance too long! Anyways...things are good here. Tony was off work yesterday and so was my mom. So they went to eat lunch with Chasity at school. It was pretty cool to see her face light up like that. Of course, I have been at her school every day this week...except Wednesday...for new Kindergartner tours. It's that time again....people are registering Kindergartners for next year. Mainly, I sat in the Media Center with the Kindergarten teachers and did my homework! It was pretty cool! lol After lunch yesterday, we checked Chasity out early and headed home. Actually we headed to Larry King Chevrolet to get my car. It had been in the shop since Thursday.... it was time to have some work done to her. She's been a great car... she's 7 years old and close to 200,000 miles. It's really about...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama . You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. Ok....so let's get this show on the road! As you may (or may not) know, I have been doing Weight Watchers since January. I am loving it. I have lost almost 40 lbs. I have hit my initial "goal weight" that WW set for me! So...it would NOT have been me who went through McDonald's today and got a vanilla milkshake! I would never try to sabotage myself like that! It was not me who went shopping for black pants yesterday. Of course, after finding the black pants, I would NEVER pick out a jacket and skirt to wear for Easter Sunday. I wouldn't find three adorable shirts that I love the colors of....all 3 shirts would not be exactly matching (EXCEPT for the color) either! I wouldn't buy three shirts that are exactly the same...just in different colors! Chasity had her first coach's pitc...

50th Post! Can you believe it???

Today I thought I'd write something inspiring. Then I decided that I'd just include an update on my world instead. This week has been pretty uneventful. Over the weekend (after I tried to break my ankle) we had Girl Scout cookie booths. We set up our table and sold 114 boxes of cookies in just a couple hours! It was a blast! Monday I went to a Home & Garden Party party. Hmmm...maybe they should work on the name of that.... Anyways...I bought this cute little angel thing to go in Chasity's room. (It's called "In God's Hands".) I wanted more stuff, but I'm saving money to go shopping for new clothes this weekend!!! Yesterday I mailed off my taxes, some clothes (that were borrowed), and some Girl Scout cookies to my sister-in-law in WV. She's wonderful! (I included some surprises in the box, but I can't put them here until she gets the box. She reads this sometimes!) So I should have my taxes done in the next week or so! That mea...
