Thinking about My Dream Job

As we all know, I'm a teacher. I was born to be a teacher. Being a teacher is my calling! As of lately, I have been teaching children's church, and I love that!  It's not half as stressful as a full-time classroom teaching job. (Best part....no grading!!) I have also been teaching at the daycare, when needed. I have been substitute teaching, as well. Some days, I come home in love with teaching. Some days, I come home wishing I had never stepped foot into a classroom. However, teaching is my dream job. Now, as the Princess gets closer and closer (about 9 1/2 weeks) to finishing middle school, I keep thinking how logistically, things are going to change next year. For the past three years, she has had a 9am-4pm (or later if she stayed after for clubs or softball) schedule. Next year, she's going to have a 7:15am-2:15pm schedule. I've lived that schedule. I wasn't a fan of going to work in the dark!!!  Now, I've been thinking that I'd...

Writing Challenge--Day #5

Yesterday, I totally forgot to write. Well, I did write, but not here. I left for church at 9am and with everything I had to do yesterday, I did not come back home to stay until almost midnight. Hey! Some days are like that! So Writing Challenge Day #5 is today! Go back and check out Day #1 , Day #2 , Day #3 , and Day #4 . Then write your own and leave the links in the comments sections on the pages. Today's Challenge: "What does your last text message from someone else say?" The last text message I received says, "I'll call at nap." Yep! That's from my mom. She's a day care director. Last night, my brother was telling us about the awesome turkey that was catered in for the Thanksgiving meal at his job. He had just sent us the information for their contact at the restaurant. If my mom had not responded to him, the message would have been much longer and would have been a free plug for a local restaurant!!  I guess Mom is going to call...

Happy Birthday Princess!

On Saturday, we had a Duck Dynasty themed bowling party for the Princess. There were about 15 people there!   On Sunday, the Princess turned 10. She is still the most beautiful, thoughtful, adoring little girl. But, she’s becoming a young lady before my eyes.   On Saturday, she had softball practice. Then she wore camo to the party.   On Sunday, she was all pink and girly. She wore a skirt to church. After church, my mom took her to have her nails done!  PINK….of course!   She’s prissy, but tough.  I’m so glad God gave her to me. I just hope that I can be the mommy that I need to be for her. (I know I mess up sometimes, but I hope I don’t send her running to therapy! LOL)    Today, is my first day back at work. So, the Princess gets to go spend time with my mom. She is going to love that!

Catching Up….Again!

I haven’t written in a few days again. I really hope that when I get back to work next week, I will get back to writing here every day.   Yes! I go back to work next week. I’m excited and scared. It’s the same thing I did last year at the same school. I’m not scared, just anxious. New kids. New co-workers. New boss.     I have open house at for my kids on Thursday evening. The Princess has Open House at her new school next Thursday also. We are going to have to work that one out.     Monday and Tuesday of this week, I did not feel well. I was so dizzy on Monday that I had to have the Princess to take care of me. I slept for almost 2 hours and felt better. Tuesday I felt much better….just a little residual dizziness. It happens sometimes. I’m afraid to tell my doc because the meds they are suggesting will take me away from driving for 6 months. That means that I won’t be able to get to work.   That’s not good.    I have gotten into ...

Graduation and Softball

Image
Daycare graduation went well today.   This Saturday I have to work graduation for work.  Since I teach at a high school, I have to be there for graduation.  Not so bad when it’s IN town and not 90 minutes away!!  Still keep part of my Saturday for ME!   The Princess will have her Championship softball game on Saturday.  Depending on the time, I will have to miss some or all of it. Hopefully…. only SOME!     Tonight, though, I’m heading to bed.  Only 5 days with the kids left!   6 days total for me….. I have ONE teacher workday the following week.

Lazy Kind of Saturday

Image
I slept until 10am!!  I haven’t done that in a while.  I can’t wait until school is out and I can do that once a week!     The Princess and the other munchkin we are keeping for the weekend slept until 10:30am!  They are playing now.   Tony has already finished mowing the grass.    I have been catching up on my Facebook “gossip” and playing games.    Now, I’m getting ready to head to my mom’s to help with stuff for the daycare Graduation tomorrow.    Nothing much planned.. Just having a lazy Saturday.
