Father's Day and a Promotion

Yesterday was Father's Day. I spent 90% of the day with my Daddy!  I spent 100% of the day with Tony! I even got to spend about 10% of the day with my brother!  (Even though she's not a dad, I got to spend a lot of time with my sister yesterday too!) It was a good Father's Day! Tony, the Princess, and I  took him and Mom to my Papaw's church yesterday morning.  It was awesome! I sang, which I don't get to do often any more. Best of all, my Daddy sang. I haven't heard him do that in a long time. It's one of my favorite things to do.... listen to him sing.  After church, we "kidnapped" (not really) Papaw and took him to lunch. We went to this awesome Mom and Pop home-cooking place in Maiden. There wasn't even a sign out front to tell you the name. So... I don't even know the name of the place we ate, but I hope we go back again! After lunch, we came home (about an hour's drive) and we did some laundry and rested before going b...

My Weekend Thoughts

I had planned to say something about the ban on travel that President Trump put into place over the weekend. I had planned to say something about the anniversary of Trayvon Martin's death and what his parents are now doing to help us remember him. I had planned to talk about a lot of things that happened nationally over the weekend. However.... I have decided that it's not time for me to talk about that yet. It's time for me to talk about what happened to my family over the weekend. First.... On Friday, the Princess had an ear infection. We know this because the stuff was draining from her ear. She has a hole in her right ear drum from when she had tubes from age 2-6. (It wouldn't come out and they had to go back in to get it. It left a hole.) Anyways, I dropped her off at school and called the doctor. They told me they didn't have anything available for us to come in on Friday. I wasn't very happy (or polite) when I asked them why they even tell peop...

Writing Challenge--Day #2

Today is Day #2 of my writing challenge. If you missed Day #1, check it out here . Join in; it's never too late to start writing. Yesterday's challenge about songs did not require a lot of thought on my part.  I have music around me all the time. I have been listening to music since before I was born. I have been singing since "before I could talk," if you would have asked my Grandmother before she passed. Today's Challenge: "If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?" In order to answer this, I am going to say that I don't have ONE single person I want to meet. I have a lot of people I want to meet. I have a lot of questions I'd love to ask everyone of them. However, I have a group of people, however silly it may sound, that I would love to meet at some point. Let me preface this by saying that I have watched wrestling on TV since, well, since as long as I can remember. I recall times sitting on the floor at my great-grand...

What I'm Watching

I know I've talked about my love of CSI (all branches of it), Criminal Minds, and, newly founded,  NCIS! However, those are not the ONLY things we watch in our family. We have a very specific DVR schedule. Mondays: Supergirl WWE Monday Night RAW Scorpion Tuesdays: WWE SmackDown! Chrisley Knows Best The Flash Wednesdays: Arrow Thursdays: Project Runway Fridays: Last Man Standing Bunk'd Saturdays: Hallmark Movie of the Week (especially this time of year--Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas Movies) Sundays: The Walking Dead Obviously, some of those are not mine, but we are a very diverse TV watching family. On Sundays, we watch NFL football--Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, and Carolina Panthers. Two Sundays a month, we meet as a family at my parents' house to watch the pay-per-view for WWE.  (It's a family thing.  I grew up watching wrestling with my Great Grandfather.) Of course, we love watching things, like Reba, that aren't on o...
