Weekend Flew By!

Image
Wow!  I can’t believe another weekend is gone.  Time flies by so quickly!  June is over.  Today is July 1st!    July 1st means I have a new boss.  My principal from this past school year is taking a different job (a higher job) with the school system.  One of the assistant principals is becoming the principal today!  I’m excited.  She is great to work with.   On Saturday, we got up early and went to SC.  Their was a death in Tony’s family, so we went to the memorial service. Then we had time to spend with family we hadn’t seen in a couple of years.   That’s always good.  That makes for interesting Facebook pictures!   Saturday morning, Tony found a tick on his hip.  He pulled it off, treated the area, and kept the tick.  Yesterday, he went to Urgent Care to get checked out…as a precaution.  Doc said to just keep an eye on it for a couple of weeks, gave him a Tetanus shot, and sent him o...

Vacation Finished

Yesterday was a day of traveling!  We got up early and left Hilton Head.    However….we did not head straight home.  Tony’s brother and sister’s  grandmother died.  (They are his step-siblings!)  We went through Laurens, SC to pay our respects to the family.  We didn’t get to see many people—most had to work until the funeral tomorrow.    But, we got to see their mom.  We haven’t seen her since the Princess was about 3-4 (maybe 5).  We really should make time to see the family more.    I had told my mom we were going through there, but I had not called my dad.  About 1/2 way there, I got a text from Dad asking if we were coming home.   That meant a lot.  It meant he missed us.    So I texted to let him know what was going on.   As soon as we got into town, I called my mom. We came home, unloaded, and went to their house.  Really?  You thought I’d do anything else fir...

Family

Yesterday, we went about 2 hours from home.  We went to watch Tony’s niece play softball.  The last time we saw her, she was only a little younger than the Princess is now.  It’s been about 8 years.   The Princess got to meet her Uncle, Aunt, and her cousin.   She was so excited.    We finally got home around 11pm last night.    The Princess and I slept on the way home.  Then we crashed as soon as we could get our pajamas on.   Now this morning, we are up and trying to get ready for church.  The Princess is leading the Pledge of Allegiance this morning because it’s Memorial Day Sunday!   (I love when she does that!)   Have a great Memorial Day weekend.  I have some work to get done for these writing jobs I have accepted.

Running Late

Image
I can’t seem to be on time for much of anything.   LOL    Today, we all overslept. So now, we are trying to get ready to head out to see Tony’s brother and his family in SC.  We are going to watch some older girl softball today!

Busy Weekend…..Again!

Image
With this being a holiday weekend, I have an extra day to fill.     So, Saturday, we are going to SC.  My brother-in-law’s daughter is playing softball there in a College Showcase tourney.  We are going to go catch a couple of those games and hang out with his brother.  We haven’t seen him since the Princess was like….2…. I think.  So…. it’s been a while!    Also, Sunday we will have church.   Monday, we will probably get together with family for Memorial Day fun.   All during this time, I am going to be working on those articles I’m writing.  They are due on Tuesday, but I get a bonus if I get them in on Monday!  (That’s what I’m shooting for!!)    Tuesday sends us all back to work and school, but the Princess and I will only have 9 days left until we get to sleep in!    Today….we have 10 days left (counting today!)!!!  Almost single digits.  Almost done!

Forgiveness

How do you get people to forgive you? A couple of months ago, I obviously ticked someone off. This person and I exchanged words for a while. Then this person stopped all communication with me. I did receive an email from this person stating that this person was sorry. I have sent a couple of messages to this person stating that I am sorry about what happened. I have tried to reconnect with this person. However, this person refuses to reconnect with me. This hurts me because this person should be part of the family. It makes things weird when I am around other people in this person's family since this person won't accept my apology and move on. I just wish I knew how to put it all behind us and move on. Suggestions? Until next time........

Emotional Easter

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. However, my feelings got hurt, and so I have a right to write about it! :) Right? I'm not trying to hurt anyone with this, I'm just trying to sort things out in my brain. Writing is my best outlet for that. Anyways, I should preface this by saying that I come from a family that travels in herds/gaggles/armies/groups/whatever you call the large group of people you go out to eat with or hang out with most of the time. This weekend, we had some people come into town. We were invited Friday night to go out to eat with them at 7pm at a restaurant that is infamous for making you wait at least an hour around 7pm. There were going to be 8 adults and 5 kids.....13 total (I think!)! (That's about the normal size for the "army" we travel with here.) The other 10 people arrived around...

Beach Vacation....Day 5

WOW! My vacation is almost over! Yesterday, we went to hang out with Debbie and her family at the pool. They moved to a different hotel and it had like 5 pools. It was awesome! Then we came home and it started storming.... again! lol Well... that's hot weather with high humidity for you! :) BUT... that's ok. We ordered pizza in and ate that for supper. The day ended with us falling asleep watching MY favorite movie on TV....Gone with the Wind! So far today, we have cleaned the house up a little. I am sitting on the front porch waiting for my sis and my brother to get here. Lisa should be here anytime.... but Donnie is a couple hours out still. I'm getting excited to see everyone! Until next time........

Beach Vacation....Day 4

Whew! I can't believe our first family beach vacation is 1/2 over! This is crazy! So, what did we do on day 4? Well... day 4 did not go as planned, but it really did go well. We got up early enough and started to get ready to go to downtown Myrtle Beach. On the way, my sis-in-law Debbie called. She said they were at the Tanger Outlets . It's a really cool place with outlet stores and walkways....covered walkways. That way key in our decision to going to Tanger Outlets yesterday. When Debbie called, the bottom had just fallen out and it was storming. There was no way we were going to go downtown Myrtle Beach to walk around in the storm. So, we decided to go to Tanger Outlets. It was great. We got a couple outfits for Chasity. We also got a couple of things for Tony's new great-niece, Lenna-Grace. She was born in April (I think) and we had not gotten her anything yet. Because of the weather, we never actually made it to the beach or the pool yesterday. However,...

Beach Vacation....Day 3

So yesterday started well. I did my 1/4 mile walk. I showered and waited on the family to get ready to go. Unfortunately, my family was in SLOW MOTION so no one else was ready before 1pm. I wanted to go walk through the shops in downtown Myrtle Beach, but I was not going in the hottest part of the day. The temperature here has been 88 with about 95% humidity! OMG! That's too much for me! lol So, we sat around the house so long that I finally fell asleep. I took a TWO HOUR NAP! Can you believe that? I can't! I rarely do that! Anyways... when I got up, we started making plans to hang out with Tony's sister and her family. They wanted to go to a place called Captain George's to eat. I'm sure the food was good, but I didn't eat any. I know we are on vacation, but I did not see a need to pay $30 per person to eat a seafood buffet. It ws not worth it to me. So while everyone else ate, I talked to them. We ordered Chasity a cheeseburger with fries, a...

Beach Vacation....Day 1

I have been awake since 4am. I got up...showered and got ready. We still had a few things left to get together, but Tony didn't get up until 5:00am. We were supposed to leave at 5:30, but we really did leave at 6:30. After stopping to change drivers (because I couldn't stay awake) and a couple of pit stops (one for each of us), we arrived around 10:30am. That's not bad considering that the MapQuest directions were not great. LOL Anyways, Chasity slept until about 9:30am.... we stopped for breakfast then. :) I have pics of every room in the house plus some of the decorations/plaques to put in Chasity's scrapbook. I will try to post some as soon as I get my computer back. By the way, they are sending me a new one because mine can not be fixed! :) Yipppeeeee! After we got here, I drove the golf cart (YES ME!) to the beach. Chasity got to play in the water for a few minutes. The bad thing is that she had on regular clothes... but I got pics of that too! Then we g...
