Final Party Touches and Blown Mind

Image
Yesterday, on Black Friday, instead of Christmas shopping, Tony, the Princess, and I went to WalMart and Sam’s Club to get all the things we needed to get for the party today. We still had plates, forks, spoons, and all that to get. We also had to get all the food.  We knew we wouldn’t have room before yesterday to make a place in the refrigerator for it, so we had to wait until yesterday to get it.   We didn’t leave the house until about 4pm. So….all the crazy Black Friday shoppers were already at home, asleep!      We got into Sam’s Club, got all the stuff we needed, and checked out in less than 2 hours.  I was suspecting about 4.  Then we got in and out of WalMart in about an hour.  That’s a new record for us.    Today, all I have to go get are the balloons for décor. We aren’t doing much, but I would like to have some balloons to make the room more festive. So, I have to get those.    Today, we also have to...

More Cookies

Cookie season is going well.  We have had at least two booths (sometimes 3-4) every weekend.  Last night, we sold about 100 boxes at WalMart. Today we have a booth we set up as a troop.  I'm really hoping it will go well.  I'm a little nervous.  The place is normally PACKED the first couple of weekends a month.  However, I think that the threat of "snow" will possibly hold some people back.  Why is it that every weekend during cookie booths there is a threat of "snow"?  Why "snow"?  Because in NC we don't get the large amounts of every where else.  We get little bits of MESS that causes traffic issues for DAYS after a 1/2" falls! :)  Of course, after it "snows" here, it's 60 degrees the following day so it goes away!  RARELY do we get anything REAL in NC.  Bring on the "snow"!  I'm ready for it! :)

Weekend Recap

Yesterday, I spent almost 12 hours scrapbooking with my Scrap Happy Divas.  I love hanging out with these girls!  Scrapbooking IS therapy! :)  While I was there, Tony and the Princess took my car to have the oil changed.  They also washed it.  Since we live in the South, the salt trucks were out like crazy for the past couple of weeks.  We have had "snow" one Friday and "ice" the next!  This week, it's supposed to hit 70!  (REALLY!?!?!?!?)  That's nuts! Today, we had church this morning.  Then lunch at IHOP! :)  Love that place!  Then...grocery shopping.  We went to Sam's Club, first. The greeter at the door said, "Are you paying with cash?"  (Really, do people still carry cash?!)  We said, "No."  He said, "Then the lines are going to be long because the credit card/debit card machine just went out!"  I sent Tony back to the car to get my purse.  The only MANDATORY thing was some chee...

Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? If not, my plan is doomed! If so, I'm good to go! I have gone through all the sales papers for this week. I have circled thi...
