Another Thwarted Attempt
Last week, the landlord of the new house said that we would be in the house "no later than Aug. 1st". Considering the amount of work he is having done, we knew that was never going to happen.
Tony said that the landlord could have another couple of days....until Tuesday of this week. The Landlord said...."ok". We will be finished and you can get in here!
So Monday, we went over and painted Chasity's pink room! We still have to do the trim work, but it's pink!
We cleaned the dark wood paneling in the office with Murphy's Oil Soap. That room looks really nice!
We put a coat of Kilz on the living room.
On Sunday, Tony went to talk to the landlord (Mr. B) and told him that as long as they were finished by TODAY (Thursday, Aug 5th) everything would be fine.
Mr. B said that wouldn't be a problem.
So last night, we went over to see how everything was looking. Mr. B said that his guy would be "finished inside tomorrow (meaning Thursday) and all he would have to do on Friday is level the floor in the kitchen."
I knew that the guy still had a LOT a LOT of work to do! Until yesterday, it was only ONE man doing all the work. So today, after the severe thunderstorms passed, my mom and I rode over there to see how the "finished product" looks.
Let's just say that it's not even close to finished! The master bath tile on the wall at the tub still needs to be finished. The fan/overhead light in the master bath has to be installed. Oh yeah....there's no sink in the master bath right now either! He also has to take down the door that he put up the other day and turn it around.... he put it up to open into the master bath, but it covers the light switch. The way it is now, I have to go into the bathroom, shut the door, and then turn on the light.
He still has to build a closet in the master bedroom too! It's going to go in the sitting room area beside the master bedroom.... and I'm ok with that! :)
Those are just some of the BIG things that he still has to do. There was a 2 page list of LITTLE things too.... like putting tracks on the bottom of all the closet doors in the house. None of them have any and the doors fall off. Chasity can't even use her closet because the doors come off when you open/close them.
The house is going to be great! However, Mr. B should have never put it up for rent before it was ready..... or a lot closer than it is!
I am so frustrated right now that I am actually tempted to tell him that I want our money back and we'll just stay where we are! Tony said I can't do that..... but I'm getting aggrivated!
So we are NOT moving this weekend. Hopefully we will get to move next weekend! If not, I will be starting school on Aug 18th and we will still be where we are!
That's enough ranting for one post/night!
