Morning Prayer

Almost every day (I wish I could say it WAS everyday) I say a prayer over Chasity before she goes to school. I started it in Kindergarten and I still do it now.

It goes like this:

"Jesus, keep my baby girl safe. Give your angels guard over her. Wrap Your arms around her when I can't be with her. Amen"

It's simple, but it says everything I need it to!

Leslie - what a great thing to do. Don't worry if you don't do it everyday, at least you're being honest about it! I pray for Carli almost everyday too - especially now that she is riding the bus back and forth to her school (even though it's only a 20 minute ride). There are a lot of people who don't pay close enough attention and I worry about all the children on the bus, not just Carli, ya know?

I love this! I've always *wanted* to do it, but I haven't really followed through consistently until now. Every morning as we walk out to the bus stop, I pray with the kids; today I almost forgot, and as I went to touch the doorknob, Will starting praying. Oh, my HEART!!!!!! (Ooo, I feel a blog post coming on! THANK YOU for the inspiration to remember!!!)

Emotional Easter

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? My Strange Collection--But Not Strange to Me!

Recently (just a minute ago) I visited Avr over at Just to Write . Today she is talking about things we collect. She collects unicorns. So in her comments today, I added my comment: Well... I collect Salt & Pepper shakers. I have been collecting them as long as I can remember. The rule is that they have to be unusual AND I don't buy them for myself! They have to come from other people....My Grandmother has the beginnings of my collection at her house. Some of them date back to WWII. Her uncle sent them here from overseas when he was fighting in WWII. So that is why I started collecting.... HOWEVER... I too have a collection of unicorn stuff. It has been packed up for a couple years now. I have seriously thought about putting it on eBay just to get rid of it. I started collecting those on my 7th bday.
