Sunshiny Day

 

My friend Phyllis at Just Bcauz nominated me for the Sunshine Award a couple of days ago. Since I was gone, I am just now getting to this.

The rules are:

1. What is your favorite color?
Purple—the royal, majestic, deep purple.  Not the overly blue-y or overly red-y purple.


2. What is your favorite animal?
None! I am allergic to everything, and I am terrified of dogs.


3. What is your favorite number?
6—but I do love most even numbers. Sometimes odd numbers freak me out. Smile


4. Favorite non-alcoholic drink?
Double chocolately chip blended cream frappuccino


5. What is your favorite alcoholic drink?
I don’t have one. I don’t drink alcohol….never have.


6. Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook—because I get to keep up with all the “drama” and “gossip” without 90 minute phone calls! LOL


7. What are your passions?
Reading, writing, singing, loving my family, serving God


8. Prefer getting or giving presents?
I love to give gifts.

However, I like getting gifts too. I collect salt-and-pepper shakers. At the moment, I have a couple hundred sets. There are no duplicates, and I haven’t bought a single set for myself!! (I have picked some of them out, but I have never bought them for myself!)

9. What is your favorite city?
I really don’t know. When I visit somewhere that city becomes my favorite while I am there, but when I get home, home is my favorite place. So yesterday, Myrtle Beach was my favorite place….until we left. Now that I’m back at home, I am so glad to be back in my bed, my shower, my sofa, my routine!


10. What are your favorite TV shows?
In no particular order...Melissa and Joey, Sister Wives, Long Island Medium, CSI (all of them), Dance Moms, Duck Dynasty….I have a list of shows I DVR each week to watch later. Smile

Emotional Easter

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? My Strange Collection--But Not Strange to Me!

Recently (just a minute ago) I visited Avr over at Just to Write . Today she is talking about things we collect. She collects unicorns. So in her comments today, I added my comment: Well... I collect Salt & Pepper shakers. I have been collecting them as long as I can remember. The rule is that they have to be unusual AND I don't buy them for myself! They have to come from other people....My Grandmother has the beginnings of my collection at her house. Some of them date back to WWII. Her uncle sent them here from overseas when he was fighting in WWII. So that is why I started collecting.... HOWEVER... I too have a collection of unicorn stuff. It has been packed up for a couple years now. I have seriously thought about putting it on eBay just to get rid of it. I started collecting those on my 7th bday. A friend gave me one for my bday and I loved it. Then I would see them everywhere. Then it became an obsession for a while! lol Now I think I'm just going to stic
