27 degrees and counting

According to my phone, it is 27 degrees outside my front door.

 

I’m okay with the cold. I would rather have cold weather than hot. I can put on more layers to get warm, but I can only take off so many layers before someone calls the cops! Smile 

 

I have always preferred the cold weather.  I don’t like to sweat! I work hard and work up a sweat when I need to, but I don’t like to sweat. I would rather do Spring Cleaning when it’s 50 degrees out so I can open the windows to prevent getting too hot!  (Yes! I know I sound like a weirdo!)

 

Anyways…. yesterday, it was 50 degrees and raining. The rain finally stopped around 6pm or so.  This morning, some of the streets are still wet. 

 

Long story short…. I was kind of hoping for a delay today!  I would love to go back to sleep for about an hour!

 

However…. not enough danger on the roadways, I guess.  So…it’s time to get ready for work. 

 

Since exams are in 6 days (counting today), I am giving my kids their study guides today. Next week will be ALL review!  I’ll have it easy for 5 days! Smile 

 

The week of Jan. 13th is Exam Week.  We have half days. Then the kids are out of school for two days (for MLK, Jr. Day and a teacher workday) on the Monday and Tuesday of the next week.  That Wednesday (after the two days off) we get new students; 2nd semester starts!

 

To be honest, we only have about 20 weeks of school left.  Can that be possible? Really?

 

How does time go by so quickly?

I still remember as a youngster when I thought things took too long, sure wish for those days, lol.

WARNING: This post is going to be REALLY long. Don't say you weren't warned! This is the post I have tried to convince myself not to write so that no one's feelings get hurt. Saving Money

Tony and I have always WANTED to save money. However, when we got married, we didn't start right away. Then two years later, Chasity was born. Then it was almost IMPOSSIBLE! Now, we've been married for 9 years, and we have VERY LITTLE actually saved. It seems like every time we get a little saved, something has to be fixed.... usually the car! lol It does need work now, but we're waiting.... but I don't think we can wait long. We know that when I actually get a teaching job, we'll be able to save about 1/3 (maybe more) of my paycheck every month....since we've been living for almost 4 years on just Tony's check anyways. However, I have decided that I want to start saving now! So.... here's my plan. It's really really hard....just kidding! The only thing I need to know is this.....Does Wal-Mart still match prices? My Goodie Box!

Recently, I participated in a swap over at Dandelion Wishes by Mamarazzi! My partner was Lisa from Like a Valentine ! This was awesome. I was so excited the whole time putting stuff together for my partner. Then I was like a kid at Christmas when I got my package from Lisa. There are some simple rules to the swap.... check out the next one that she does! Anyways... one of the rules is that you take pics and make a post about the goodies that you received. So.... I know these pics and some of the info are repeats from what I did in my 100th post, but I needed a separate post..... just for the swap!
